Chapter 12: Predator & Prey
A/N: I will be using Latin in here, which I got off of google translate... So yeah ...

I FELT FEAR RUSH THROUGH ME as we raced down the road. I've never experienced it like this. My life was never one seeking out adventure, due to Julie, so this thrill or excitement -- it just scared me even more.
"How are we going to loose them?" Cecil asked as he kept his eyes on them through the review mirror.
"I don't know." Andrew mumbled. I barley even heard it.
"What?" Cecil asked as I remained silent.
"I don't know, dammit!" Andrew yelled as he pushed more on the gas while weaving through lanes. He looked at each of us, thinking of what to say next. "When I went out to get some supplies for us, they cornered me and I did what I had to."
"What did you do?" I asked more angry than I intended.
"I acted." He paused as if he were remembering every detail. " I had no other choice."
"What did you do?" I repeated but this time I already had an idea of the answer.
"I killed them. I killed four of them. The exact thing I told Julie I wouldn't do." He had our full attention now. "The deal with me and Julie was that in order for me to ever take you, I would have to promise that if she ever did find us -- she would be able to take you back without anyone dying." Andrew stated as he weaved through more lanes with horns honking after him.
"What was the point of the deal?" Cecil asked before I could.
"Before any of this -- before Julie was a Guardian, before I had you, Julie and I were best of friends. But as soon as the Guardians came into our town, wanting volunteers, Julie offered herself over. It wasn't until the news of why the Guardians were in need of assistance did me and Julie promise each other that we would help one out. But Julie now, she's not the same little girl that I befriended. Something in her changed the night she left with the Guardians."
Julie and Andrew were friends? Well that was a strange image to picture. As I shoved that thought out of my head, I concentrated on the present problem; Guardians.
"We gotta do something dad!" Cecil yelled with his focus on the Guardians. About five minutes had passed, and still they were getting closer and closer to us.
"Well fudge nuggets."
"I got an idea, but you guys aren't gonna like it." I yelled as the idea hit me. Now at this point I really didn't know what I was thinking till after it was done. I unclipped my seat belt -- not a good idea -- and then lunged at the front seat and practically taking the steering wheel out of Andrews hands.
"What the fu--" Andrew exclaimed, as I turn the wheel quickly to the left causing the car to drift and make a complete u-turn into the other lane.
"Well I'll be damned. I've never done that before."
As screeching from the tires echoed through my ears, we watched as the Guardians vehicles pushed in their brakes. But our victory didn't last long when the roar of a car horn came at us. We all reacted to the jolt of the crash the skidded our car a couple feet.
"... Ow ... " I mumbled a few minutes later. I could smell oil and burnt rubber, but my hearing was still ringing. When I finally opened my eyes, I realized I wasn't even in the car but a few metres away.
Looking up, I could see two air bags with both Andrew and Cecil behind them, their heads still bent forward. But the inly thing that I couldn't peel my eyes off where the windshield. I'd gone right through.
