Chapter 19: The Eye of the Tiger--

____

"YOU'RE A DAMN IDIOT, YOU
know that?" Was what I was greeted to when I woke, but I didn't dare open my eyes. I stayed completely still, well tried to anyway.

"Hey, it wasn't like you were going to tell her, 'um, uh, like, um'. You suck at talking to girls." Well that was obviously Thorne.

"Guys ..." Cecil interrupted with barely a whisper.

"Hey, well at leasts she's talking to me! I bet you any money she likes me better!" Couldn't deny there, I mean Thorne is nice and all just Leo is well, sweeter.

"Don't you dare--"

"Guys listen." Cecil growled, growing louder.

"--if you hadn't gotten shot, then maybe she would be conscious right now and then maybe we could've discussed things a lot easier and earlier!"

Oh yeah, how could I forget, they were some sort of werewolves!

"Guys!" Cecil yelled this time. There was a pause. I started to feel panic grow with nervousness. "She's awake god dammit! Now stop fighting!"

     Well crap.

I opened my eyes to find them all looking at me, worry etched on their faces as they waited for me to say something. I opened my mouth to say something but my eyes got caught into the golden ones -- the weird werewolf boy who had just healed in front of me.

"Hi?" I whispered, not loud enough but they all heard me. They probably have super sonic hearing. That's a very good point. "Hi?" Thorne looked at me, confused."Hi!?" He yelled more this time, but received a shove from Cecil and dirty glare from Leo.

"Um, are you," Leo looked back at Thorne, who was being scolded by Cecil, "okay?" But I was a lost for words, just staring into those golden orbs. I just nodded my head weakly. "So what exactly are you?" I whispered. Leo just signed, and rubbed his temples.

"That legend, with the three brothers, that's basically what our lives are."

"Hayden..." I said, remembering he had been killed. "Who could do such a thing?"

"The true monsters of this world," Thorne growled, "Guardians. It's what they live for. They protect you from us, by simply killing us off." I just let out a shaky breath so he continued. "Now it's only down to Leo and I. The lasts ones to carry on the family name."

"And that's where you step in." Leo finished for him. "This next part might seem... Uh ..." He looked at Thorne who just shrugged. "...weird?"

"I bet your guardian-step-mother told some of our story, like you are the only that can bare us a child--" Thorne started.

"I'm not having sex with you."

"Yet."

"Thorne! What the hell?" Cecil hit Thorne who was trying to suppress a laugh, but it wasn't working.

"Anyway," Leo glared daggers at Thorne once again, "it's said that the one you bare a child to, will get 'ultimate power' and be the true ruler of our kingdom. So basically the King of the Jungle." He scratched the back of his neck while he chuckled at his own joke.

Seriously, men are so childish.

Actually I take that back. These guys weren't even men-- just super childish boys.

"You still haven't answered my question fully." I stated, trying to get them back on focus. They each calmed down and looked at me again, all goofiness gone.
