Chapter 6: Burn Baby Burn
~~~~
Kiara's POV
I COULD FEEL A fire burn within me, but I wasn't able to put it out. It's heat kept rising along with screams from both me and Julie.
"Kiara?! What the hell is going on?!" Julie screamed at me as I yelled in pain from the heat rising. I could feel my heart literally pounded at my chest to be free from the fire.
"What the hell was this?!"
"Kiara, please answer me!" Julie yet again screamed as she was waving her arms around frantically trying to figure out what do with me.
"Who is this?!"
Uh oh. That wasn't my voice. It was his, the Leo kid. Great timing ...
"Julie ... Ah!" I had to pause as I held my chest where the main burning sensation was coming from. "Who's ... Leo?!" I finished as pain filled my body.
"Answer me!"
"Shut up! I'm a little busy right now!"
Gosh this kid was annoying, please tell me he isn't always like this. Before anything else was said between me or Julie I heard the doorbell ring and instantly our heads turned towards it then meeting each other's gaze. Mine with sweat pouring down my face along with pain -- while hers just showed fear. The doorbell then run again, and I don't know why but I nodded towards the door for her to answer. As she left, I heard gasp then all to familiar voice. Ryan.
And that's when I became utterly stupid. Pretty much retarded. And not one of the sharpest pencils in the pack -- I screamed.
---
"KIARA?!" HE YELLED WHILE
trying to look over Julie's shoulder. "What's happening to her?!" I could see panic, fear, confusion, worry and pain take over his features just like they had with Julie -- but I couldn't do anything but scream. As Ryan tried to push Julie out of the way, she stood her ground. It was way to hot. I needed to cool down. I needed water. While Julie was distracted with Ryan I swear at one point I saw her pull out a knife and hold behind her back.
As I got up, I made my way slowly to the back door while holding chest afraid that if I let go, it would burst. I stepped onto the hot sand -- but it was nothing compared to what was burning within me. In fact it even gave me some shivers.
I then let my body collapse in the oceans waves. At first it seemed like everything had stopped till I heard bubbling around me and that's when I noticed I was glowing. Like no joke. Like legit.
Before I could freak out about the abnormal bubbling and glowing, the pain in chest grew to the point where tears came to my eyes as I screamed, yet again. Man I swear I was going to lose my voice by the end of this. Next thing I knew my vision blurred and I could feel another heart beat along with mine.
"What the hell?"
As someone's arms wrapped around my body -- I didn't put up a fight in fact my body was limp. As the burning died down, I felt something on my chest. Opening my eyes they instantly locked with Julie's as her eyes searched my face with a confused, worry -- and fear?
"What is it Julie?" My voice was quiet and sore. Julie then quickly changed her features and that was the last I saw of fear.
"Oh my god ..." she whispered as a hand covered her mouth.
"D-Did you feel that?" He questioned me.
"What is it?" I asked again, ignoring the boy that goes by the name of Leo.
"Kiara, there's a mark on your chest -- it's like right over your heart." Julie replied as her eyes searched my features, probably wondering if I was all there.
"The burning -- it was like I was burning alive!"
I'm guessing he wasn't going to take my silence as an answer.
"Burn baby burn." Was all I had to say.
"Where's Ryan?" I asked trying to look behind her but me being in the ground wasn't really helping with my efforts.
"He's right behind..." She said turning around, but no one was there, " ... Me."
I watched as Julie's eyes searched for the kid. It wasn't hard to miss him being quite tall, so where was he? I'm sure he would've stayed around or said something --
"Julie, Julie, Julie. Long time no see." Sitting up, both me and Julie searched the beach for the voice. I swear it sounded familiar.
"Andrew." Julie growled. "Your not supposed to be here. We had an agreement!" Andrew. Who the heck was Andrew, and why did it sound so familiar?
As a figure stepped out of the shadows, my questions were soon answered as I was staring into black eyes.
"Well we've come to take what is ours." He said with a devilish grin creeping it's way across his face.
