Chapter 15: The Royals

----

IT HAD BEEN AT LEAST THREE
hours before take off. I just watched out the window, as the clouds swallowed us.

I had only been on a plane once, and that was when Julie decided it was time for us to move out of Canada. I had always liked Canada, but it's harsh winters never really made a good impression on me. Yes it was beautiful to look at, but the cold just wasn't for me. But besides all those ice storms, I really did enjoy the other seasons-- such as fall. All the pretty colours of the leaves always made me smile.

But then we moved to Florida.

And well it won my heart. The beaches, heat, allowing me to wear shorts and t-shirts forever. I would miss it. And there was also Ryan. He had been my only friend really since we moved there. I just hoped he wasn't involved with all this.

When I looked over at Cecil, he was peacefully asleep. He looked different, he looked so young and innocent. But how could my kidnappers look innocent? Sighing, I rubbed my temples. I could feel sleep over powering me due to the silence, but I wanted stay awake and see everything we passed. Turning on the television, I winced at how loud it was and quickly turned it down before it woke Cecil or Andrew. I started flipping through the channels, nothing really caught my attention-- though I did stop on a CSI, I was a sucker for those. But eventually I found out that I'd already seen the episode so it left me with nothing. Well that was until I saw my face.

Yeah, you heard me right.

I watched as a photo of me on a beach showed up with the news anchor describing me as missing. I felt my heart racing. People would be looking for me now. And here I was, watching TV in a luxury jet with both my captors fast asleep. I almost lost my breath when I saw his face come up.

"Here with us, is a claimed friend of Kiara's. Tell us, Ryan, have you known any reason why Kiara would just leave?" A blonde news anchor asked. She was holding the mike out in front of his mouth, waiting for him to spill some news.

"N-no." He paused and looked at the blonde. "She just moved here about seven months ago, I thought she was happy."

"I was."

"I just hope she comes back," he looked at the camera now, his eyes red from what looked like he had been crying. Had Ryan really cried about me?

"Kiara, if you're listening, just keep fighting, don't give up. I'll be here --" The screen was instantly shut off. I turned my head to find Andrew putting the remote down on a table next to him.

"Hey!" I yelled as I felt anger build up inside me. He just made himself comfy as if he were going to go back to sleep.

"I said hey." I muttered, making him open his eyes and focus on me.

"Yes you did, good for you." He said, closing his eyes again. I growled and got up and walked over to him. I don't know what was wrong with me, but right now my emotions were all over the place.

"Why'd you turn it off?" I asked as I grabbed his collar. He just pushed me away from him before standing up and liking down at me. "You knew, didn't you!" I growled taking a step towards him. "You lying selfish bastard!" Before I could do any damage to the prick, I felt arms come from behind and pull me into them.

"Kiara stop." Cecil said in between my grunts of trying to break his hold on me. But it was no use, he was way stronger than me. When Cecil noticed that I stopped fighting him, he put me down, but didn't let go. "Kiara stop." He repeated. I just kept glaring daggers at Andrew as he stared at me with a smug smile tugging at his lips. I signed, and let myself go limp in Cecil's arms, but I never torn my glares away from Andrew.
