A rose has fallen
oh sing to her a lullaby
neath velvet skies,
a sprig of baby's breath
placed in her mouth
to signal her demise,
angels bow in adoration
to blow her lips a kiss,
hush no need to cry,
this fallen rose still blooms
her heady scent remains
if only in earth's sigh
