"Well, I don't know anything about you apart from your first name so why don't you introduce yourself?" Calum questioned me. I noticed the worried looks on Luke and Michael's faces but I just ignored them. "O-okay. Um.. My name is Charlotte Alexa Brook, I'm 17 turning 18 in July. I-" "When in July?" Calum cut in. "The 22nd." "Wow Luke isn't that like a week after your birthday? What a coincidence." Calum said sarcastically. "Oh sorry go on." He nodded at me. I continued, "I'm actually here on vacation. I'm originally from Florida but I moved to Chicago." "Why Chicago? Why not Los Angeles?" Calum cutting in again. "Chicago because I went there for your concert last year and I liked the place. Plus, the University of Chicago offers the course I wanted. I like LA and want to move to LA, it has been a dream of mine to live there ever since I was little but we could never afford to so yeah.." I stopped there not knowing what else he wanted to know about me and hugged Luke's sweater.

"Is that all? What about your talents? What can you do? Well, you can sing. Not the best but you're okay. And was that your own song or..?" Calum said. Michael decided to cut in, "What do you mean by 'not the best'? Her voice is amazing and whether or not that was her own song, it's amazing too. Can you stop being an ass now?" "It's okay Michael. I know I'm not the best at singing and yes that was my own song. It's not exactly a song yet but they're just random lyr-" I got cut by Calum. Again. "Yeah yeah random lyrics that come to you. What about your parents? What did they do to make you leave them in Florida?"

Why do people keep asking me this. I swear my family is the least interesting thing to talk about and I've only told Luke about it. Should I tell Michael and Calum about it too? I mean they won't judge right? They wrote songs about depression and everything. I remember their song Broken Home, it makes me cry everytime it comes on. Luke interrupted my thoughts, "Y'know what Calum?!"

-Luke-

I don't get it. Why is Calum being such an ass today? Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? He's getting to know Charlotte. I'm happy he's willing but he's interrupting everything she says. I wasn't listening to what they were saying because I was too busy choking Calum in my head. Then something Calum said caught my attention, "What about your parents? What did they do to make you leave them in Florida?" Nope. That's the last straw. I took Charlotte here to take her mind off her family and Calum here is messing it up. "Calum, I don't know why you're being such a dick today but Charlotte and I are leaving. C'mon Charlotte."

I took Charlotte's hand as we left the room, slamming the door behind us. We went into the elevator and headed to the roof top. I needed to clear my mind and I'm sure that Charlotte needed to clear hers too. The doors opened and we were hit by a nice cool breeze. Our clothes were still a little wet but it didn't seem to bother us. I pulled her to the lounging area. It had a couch, some chairs and a table. I said, "We have writing sessions up here sometimes. It's.." "It makes you feel open and free." She said with her eyes closed and arms wide open, letting the wind hit her face and her long hair dancing with it. She's beautiful. Aaand I'm staring. What are you doing Luke?

I cleared my throat, "Exactly. It's not the beach but it gives me about same feeling. It's just that up here, I feel like I can do anything. Like I'm on top of the world."

-Charlotte-

Wow. I knew that the roof top would be amazing but having Luke here with me makes it even more amazing. It's like we're the same person. He tells me what he's feeling and it's exactly how I'm feeling. I hope this isn't all just one big beautiful nightmare because if it was, I wouldn't want to wake up. I slipped on Luke's sweater as the cold wind hit me from every direction possible. Then, words started flooding in as I mindlessly took out my phone, typing away, lines and lines which surprisingly rhymed. I could feel Luke staring at me but I couldn't look away now, I didn't want to miss anything that came to me. Sadly that was all that I had at the moment.

I locked my phone and looked over to find Luke sitting on the couch busy writing on a notepad. Guess he was just as inspired as I was. He looked breathtaking with the sun shining on him. I couldn't resist, I quickly took a photo of him hoping he wouldn't notice. I felt pretty achieved when he continued writing away until he said, "I saw that." We both burst out laughing and I covered my face. That was so embarassing! "But you looked really good there!" I said with my hands still covering my face. I heard him giggle and then I heard footsteps. He's getting closer. I decided to peep through my fingers and he was gone.

He was no longer on the couch but the notepad and pen were still there. I bet he's getting ready to scare me from behind. I decided to scare him instead, I got ready and turned as quick as I could, "Boo!" But he wasn't there. If he's hiding somewhere, he'd probably be laughing about how stupid I looked thinking he was behind me.

Then something poked my sides, startling me. I think I screamed 'Holmylimeh' or something like that. I turned around and there he was, Luke Hemmings, laughing uncontrollably, holding his stomach, his eyes shut tightly and his beautiful pearlie whites on full display. It was definitely a lovely sight but I was so embarassed, I was blushing so hard. Luke tried to say something in between his laughs but this is what I managed to make out, "ha ha ha.. your face.. ha ha.. failed.. ha ha.. but I wasn't.. and then I.. ha ha.. and you.. ha.." or something like that. It was mostly laughing but yeah he calmed down a few moments later. Thank God. I might have pushed him off the building if he didn't stop. "Okay okay let's go. I'm hungry." He said still giggling.

We entered the elevator and he got all wide-eyed and ran out back to the lounging area. He came back with the notepad. Of course. "Can't forget about important words." I rolled my eyes and laughed at his dorkiness. We went back down to the lobby and said goodbye to the receptionist which I now know is named Phyllis, lovely woman, and headed to his car.

"You look nice in my sweater. Although it's a little too big on you." He said backing out of the parking lot. I just remembered that I was still wearing his sweater. I guess it was just that comfortable. I noticed that we weren't heading in the direction to my hotel so I asked, "Where are we going Luke?" "For dinner! I'm hungry remember?" He said. I looked at the time. "It's 4.30 Luke! It's too early for dinner!" I laughed. "Fine, then we are having snacks. To Maccas!!" he said. What an idiot.

"Your voice is beautiful by the way. Who cares what Calum said." Luke said. "Thanks." I said blushing. "H-he's usually not like this. I'm sorry." He said looking at me before quickly looking back at the road. "It's okay. Maybe he's having a bad day or something." I said looking out the window. I honestly hope that Calum doesn't hate me. I mean he seems like he does but I hope it was all because he was having a bad day.

I was lost in thought when I felt Luke hold my hand. I looked over at him and he was blushing, how cute. I was blushing too, really badly might I add. But I held back and he smiled. He wasn't even trying to hide it! This dork. I placed our intertwined hands on my thigh. The both of us had little smiles on our faces. What did I do to deserve this? Please don't wake me up if this is a dream.
