when she walked into the coffee shop, wonwoo didn't know how to react. should he have been angry and scolded her for the stunt she pulled the other day, or should he just pretend it never happened?

he pretended that he hadn't noticed her entrance but mingyu yelled for his attention.

"hyung, it's noona," the younger boy called out as he approached the kitchen to bring in the used dishes from an emptied table, "the one you were telling us about the other day."

wonwoo wanted to smack the boy for the comment but he had already disappeared into the kitchen.

"you talk about me?" gaeul raised an eyebrow at him. there was a smug look on her face. it made wonwoo uncomfortable.

he scratched at the back of his head, thinking of a way to respond. he stuttered but managed to come up with a reply. "because of you, an old man started yelling at me. i didn't do anything but you got me into trouble."

her lips curved upward at the ends. "i told you to run, didn't i?"

he shook his head, confused. "you didn't."

she scrunched her eyebrows for a moment as if she were in thought before she smiled innocently. "oh, yeah, i didn't." she chuckled slightly before saying, "sorry about that. i just thought you needed some excitement."

was she for real? he couldn't believe it. this girl certainly picked at his nerves. was it really so easy for her to joke around like that?

"yah, what's with that look on your face?" gaeul questioned. "i told you i was only joking."

"if we were friends then i would understand that it was just a joke," wonwoo replied with a shake of his head.

"really? then we're friends from now on," she said. "you have to forgive me now."

he was caught off guard by how direct she was being when he should have expected it. he shook his head. "you have to earn the 'friend' title before we can become friends."

she pouted, pulling off aegyo quite well. "do i have to?"

despite his previous mood, he chuckled. "yes, you do."

she made a face, mumbling something incoherent under her breath. "do i have to be your friend to order a drink then?"

"huh? oh, yeah. i mean, no." he stumbled over his words. he had truly forgotten that he was at work. thankfully, there were no customers lined up after gaeul.

she ordered her drink and waited awkwardly by the counter as he prepared it. he handed it to her then she left. "i'll see you soon, friend," she had called out before her exit.

wonwoo let out a sigh, relieved that she had gone. that girl gave him mixed emotions and he couldn't decide on which one to act upon.

a chuckle nearby surprised him and he moved to smack the younger boy who stood next to him. mingyu was fast and avoided the impact the his fist. "hyung, next time i'll be in charge of being behind the counter. you're too busy flirting with noona."

wonwoo decided to just ignore the laughing mingyu.
