"you're like a robot, hyung."

wonwoo looked up at the speaker, denying the accusation. mingyu frowned and set the empty tray on the counter. business was slow that day, with only three groups of customers occupying the tables, which they were thankful for. wonwoo wasn't in the mood to be working, and mingyu was worried that any more customers would give the older guy more stress.

as the older guy watched the couple sitting close to the window, mingyu observed him. he noticed the small wistful glint in the almost lifeless stare of his friend. "i'm serious. are you alright?"

"i'm fine."

"is this about ga eul noona?" he didn't want to mention it, but he didn't think he had the choice. wonwoo didn't seem to be listening and mingyu's heart sank. he didn't like seeing his friend that way. he thought over his next words, contemplating on what could happen after his suggestion. "maybe you should go and talk to her."

wonwoo shrugged. "should i?"

mingyu nodded. "we can handle the shop for now," he told his friend. "we won't tell the manager."

wonwoo gave him a grateful smile before leaving the counter and heading to the employees' room. he took off his apron, changed out of his work clothes and grabbed his bag before leaving the coffee shop.

there were only a few places he knew he could find her. he found her in the first place he tried looking.

the studio didn't look much different from the last time he was there. her friend was at the counter when he came into the shop. she looked surprised but let him into the back room.

art materials still scattered around the room. he was careful not to trip on the paintbrushes and the can of paint on the floor. she was on the other end of the room, working on her latest masterpiece.

she hadn't noticed him come in.

he took hesitant steps towards her, but soon enough he was standing behind her. the canvas in front of her barely had any color on it.

"you didn't knock," she murmured. she hadn't looked his way and he felt a bit of nostalgia. it was only a few months ago when he used to watch her paint walls out on the streets. he would not say a word and just watched as she lost herself in the artwork. it would only be when she spoke that he would realize that she knew he was there.

he shrugged though she was still not facing him. "you wouldn't have answered. you're always so immersed in your task," he said.

this time she did turn her head. "i guess you're right about that." she shrugged. "still, doesn't mean i don't notice when someone sneaks up behind me."

"that would be because sometimes you're not supposed to be painting," he said. "i stil can't believe you haven't been caught."

she laughed then dropped her paintbrush. she spun around to face him. "so, why are you here?"

"i wanted to talk with you."

her expression changed and she was no longer wearing her smile. wonwoo used to find that mischievous smile annoying, sometimes he was afraid of it, then he grew to love it. in that moment, he wasn't so sure anymore.

"then talk."
