he often sees her mischievous smile in his head. the glint in her eyes that frustrated him at times would be on his mind and his mood for the day would grow dark. she loved to linger there in the back of his mind.

it was a good thing that, when he was not working at the coffee shop, he had his friends to keep his thoughts controlled. he and the others were pretty close, considering they shared a dorm. when one of them came back to the dorm, announcing that he had gotten a job, everyone thought to celebrate the achievement. they decided on going to a restaurant nearby. it wasn't usually full there, even in the evening, but the food was pretty good.

they arrived at the restaurant and a couple had just walked out, leaving a table vacant for them to use. with help from one of the waiters, they pushed a few tables together to fit all thirteen of them. as always when they decided to eat out together, their table would be the loudest among the customers.

"since seungkwan has a new job, he'll be the one to treat us!" someone suggested, making seungkwan shout in protest. "i don't have any money yet," he reasoned.

"don't lie! i know you still have some allowance left from what your parents gave you," seungcheol remarked, then laughed. the other boy made a face.

it was funny to wonwoo how they had gotten so close in the two years since they met. it just so happened that they were trainees to become an idol group. the company put them together and now they live in one dorm. at first it was difficult but they learned to cope with it. they went to practice together, but during their free times they could do as they pleased. some of them had part-time jobs, others were still going to school, and others did both. if it weren't for each other, they might as well break down under the stress.

a waitress came to take their orders and one by one they recited what they wanted. it was minghao's turn when someone came stumbling inside the restaurant. their heads turned to see what the commotion was about and wonwoo recognized the girl who was unsteadily headed in their direction.

ga eul was about to walk past but the waitress grabbed her by the elbow, stopping her from walking any further. "eonnie, what are you doing?" the girl looked worried. it was not in the way that she was afraid that the girl would cause trouble but in the way that she looked concerned. as if this wasn't the first time this scene had occurred. it took wonwoo a moment to realize the two girls looked familiar. "eomma is in the kitchen."

"don't worry about me," the older girl muttered, sending the younger one a lazy smile. ga eul looked drunk and she even smelled so from his seat across the table. even the smile on her face didn't seem so teasing as he thought it would look.

smoking, vandalizing, and drinking. this girl was something else.

the waitress hesitated before letting go of ga eul. "i've only had two bottles this time," ga eul muttered before walking off to the direction of the kitchen.

there was quite a distance between their table and the kitchen but the shouting was loud enough to be heard. the waitress frowned, shaking her head, before she returned her attention to the boys. they were curious about the exchange but no one voiced out the question in their head.

for the rest of the meal, wonwoo found himself staring off into the place where she had disappeared to. he shouldn't have been surprised at the behaviour he had seen from her, but he was curious.

ga eul, to him, always seemed like the girl who had things under control with her mischievous attitude. she was in control. even in the state she was in, she acted as if she was in control.

but that was it. she acted as if she was in control. and wonwoo wondered if she really was.
