Chapter 11

In the morning:
arvind woke up early in the morning to prepare for his presentation. He sat on his bed with all the files ,papers and laptop. After finishing everything, he went to check out on  karthik. He was shocked to see karthik still sleeping.

Arvind: karthik get up. Its already 8:30 now. We should be in office by 10:00A.M. Get ready.

Karthik: no arvind. I cant come. stomach upset yar.

Arvind: whats wrong ? Is it too severe?

Karthik: i am good. Bus thoda rest karna hei. All the best for your presentation.

Arvind: okay fine . I will ask abhi to give you proper diet. Bye karthik.

karthik: bye. Rock your presentation buddy!

Arvind: sure!

Arvind takes out the blanket over Abhi's head and wakes her. She is too lazy to get up.

Abhi: bhayya please. I am on vacation. Let me sleep ...

Arvind: abhi i am going to office. I want you to get up and make some lassi.

Abhi:  itni subah subah lassi? Nope i wont. Let me sleep idiot.

Saying this she again covered her entire body with duvet.

Arvind: abhi, karthik has a stomach upset. He is not coming to office. I want you to take proper care of him while i am away.

Listening to arvind's words, she got up and stood.

Abhi: how many glasses of lassi should i make?? And anything else?

Arvind was starring at her with his mouth wide-opened. He didnt say anything.

Abhi: Hello!!!  I just want people around me to be happy.  Thats it!!

Arvind: All right(nagging). Ask him what he wants.

Arvind ate toasted bread and started to his office.
Meanwhile, abhi washed her face and made lassi for karthik. She stood infront of mirror for about 5min before going to karthik's room.
She knocked the door and entered into the room.

Karthik was playing subway surfers in his mobile. He noticed Abhi entering the room.

Karthik: hey! Good morning.

Abhi: morning. how are you feeling now?

karthik: why? What happened?

abhi: but bhayya said that you have a severe stomach upset!

karthik: ya um . . . . Yes. Aaaahh my stomach . . .
He held his stomach.

Abhi: i will make lassi for you. Please wash karlo.

Karthik: ok. Thank you.

Abhi: need not mention.

Abhi gave karthik lassi and reluctantly , he drank it.

Abhi: karthik, i made curd rice. Come and eat it.

Karthik hates curd rice. But he was left with no other alternative.

At the dining table:
abhi served the food and placed fruit juice infront of karthik.

Karthik: abhinaya why are you eating curd rice?

Even Abhi hates curd rice. she did not eat it for the last 6 years or so...

abhi thought: its because you are eating it karthik. I wont let you face the pain all alone.

Karthik:abhinaya?

abhi: woh mujhe curd rice bahut acha lagta. I like it.
And karthik you can call me abhi.

Karthik: ok. Strange taste by the way.!!

karthik finished eating . He went to the kitchen and was about to wash his plate when abhi took the plate away from his hands and started washing it.

Abhi: now that i am here, let me do this!

Karthik smiled and went away while she was busy washing the dishes.
Karthik saw abhi's phone ringing on the dining table  and went closer to have a look. It was tej. He heard abhi coming and stepped aside.

Abhi comes from kitchen to answer the call.

Abhi: hello tej.

Tej: abhi, the results are out.! Do you want me to check yours?

abhi: no please . I wanna check it myself.
saying this she hung up.

Abhi: karthik, can i check my result in your lappi?

karthik: yes ofcourse. Come lets check.

Abhi was a bit tensed and karthik could sense that.

Karthik: ho ho cool down. You will be at the top. For sure.

Abhi: Is not about me Karthik. Its about my friends.

Karthik was moved. He asked abhi to tell her hall ticket number. But she said varun's , priya's ,rahul's, appu's and nithu's. Nithu stood second. Varun and priya got 80th and 90th positions respectively. Appu and rahul stood at 10th and 16th.

Karthik: Abhi,Now that you checked all your friends , will you check yours ?

she was so happy that he called her abhi.

Abhi: yeah.

She tells him her hall ticket number.
karthik checks her result and she turns out to be the  topper.

karthik congratulates her.

She got calls from all her friends and they congratulate her. She came to know that priya and varun did not repent. She felt happy.

Karthik: abhi shall we go out? Ice cream khaane? My treat for your success!

abhi: yes karthik. Of course.

At CCD:

abhi starred at karthik while drinking coffee . she was about to ask if he had a girlfriend.
Then ,arrives tej.

Tej : hey abhi,congrats.
He said, coming close to her.

Abhi: thanks tej .  How come you are here?

Tej: i came here to do an internship on hacking. I have been following you from the y-junction.

Karthiks eyes were red with anger. Tej ordered a cold coffee and sat with them. He got a call after sometime.

Tej: excuse me. I will just come.

He left.

Karthik: abhi, you keep drinking. I will be back.

Abhi: but karthik. . .ok. . .come back soon.

Karthik: sure.

He follows tej. He overheard him saying" sab ready hei na? As soon as she comes out, you guys round her up and drag her into the car. Aur ha be carefull, she has her knight with her."

Karthik was evenmore angry now. He wanted to protect abhi at all costs. He went back and after they finished drinking coffee, tej insisted that he will pay the bill. He paid it and started walking infront of abhi and karthik. Karthik holded abhi's hand and abhi felt butterflies in her stomach. She looks into his eyes . But, Karthik keeps an eye on what tej is gonna do ...

As soon as abhi came out, someone dragged her aside . But karthik's grip on her was even more tight. Without any delay, he pushed away all of them and battered them badly. He didnt give tej any chance to rescue her. Tej sighed the thugs to go away, which was seen by karthik and they ran away.

Karthik: abhi are you all right?

abhi: I am ok.

Karthik could see the blood on her right hand. They held her hand and pushed her away. This made her bangles break and her wrist starts bleeding..

Tej: who are they abhi? Anyways i think you should go home now.

Karthik glares at him. He wanted to warn him. But, he dont want to do it infront of Abhi. So , he took Abhi and drove away.
