WRAPPED WITH LOVE

Hearing Karthik crying out her name, Abhi ran to the room adjacent from balcony. Her heart started pounding fast and tears dropped down her eyes.

Abhi thinks: Karthik shouted in pain. Did they shoot him? What must have happened? I want to see you Karthik.  I can't lose you !

She was about to leave the room when she heard the police announcing something in a mike.

She listens to the announcement which said:" Enough . We released your leader. We don't want any more civilians to be dead! Come down and take your leader back. We are giving you 2 minutes. Clear up!"

Terrorists vacate the restaurant and go down. They demand the police men to put down their weapons and escape in a vehicle with their leader .

Head of the police:
Officials, the lives of our people are more important than the lives of those terrorists. They might have shot hundreds of people inside. So, better hurry and save their lives.

Police men ran into the hotel and brought out every single person shot by those terrorists. They swiftly moved the injured to a hospital near by.

Abhi goes out of the room in search of Karthik. She opens the main door and runs towards the stair case. She sees Karthik bleeding unconsciously on the floor.  Abhi , not being able to spare the sight of Karthik bleeding  , took a few steps back and sticks to the wall.

The rescue team approached towards Karthik to put him on a stretcher  .When they declared that he is still alive by checking his pulse ,Abhi got back her senses and ran to him.

Abhi shouting: Is he alright?
She held his hands and kissed him on the forehead.

Abhi mutters beside Karthik's lips: Karthik, you can't run away from me . And, if you do that, I will follow you.

Rescue man: Mam, are you related to him? You better accompany us to the hospital.

Abhi: How can I not?

They go downstairs and move him into the ambulance. Abhi cleans the blood on his body with cotton.

She caresses his hair and says :
" I am here Karthik. You don't need to worry. You will be alright".

No sooner did they reach the hospital, than the doctor came running out and swiftly shifted him to an ICU. Abhi followed them. After an hour long of observation, he came out and said:
" Are you his better half?"

Abhi: Yeah. You can say that. Is he okay?

Doctor: He is alright now. Luckily, they shot him above the chest , near the shoulders. Due to which, he lost a lot of blood. We removed the bullet and provided him with sufficient amount of blood. But,...

Abhi: But? What happened doctor?

Doctor: I don't think he'll be able to use his right hand, where the bullet penetrated! At least not till a few months.

Abhi: Ahhhh...thats not a problem .

Doctor(surprised) : Not a problem?

Abhi: Yeah. If he uses his right hand, he drives to take me to places he likes. Now, I can actually take him to places I like!

Doctor: What??

Abhi: By the way doctor, after a few months he'll be normal right? How many months it might take?
