*Yoki’s P.O.V.*

I woke up feeling well rested; a lot better than I had in a while. I hadn’t had any nightmares or felt that nervous on-guard sense. I’d felt perfectly safe for once.

Some sort of warm and soft material pressed against my cheek, almost like a pillow, but slightly different. Being half asleep, and the strange person I am, I rubbed my face into the plushy fabric. I felt the object tense up slightly, and immediately snapped my eyes open; completely awake. I stared into a dark grey, almost black eye, a single eye. Blushing madly I realized it had been Kakashi, and I turned away with a tiny, “sorry”.

A moment of silence ensued, then he chuckled and whispered back, “Quite alright.”

I then looked up at the surrounding ninja also in the room. Almost all of their eyes were on Kakashi and me, my blush deepened, I held my knees close to my chest and just tried to make myself smaller, and hide my face a bit. Some chuckled and others ignored it, I gave a half-hearted smile and turned my attention to the door handle. Any second now, the Hokage, or one of his informants would walk in and give the news of what was to become of me.

I held my breath when, almost a half hour later, I heard footsteps outside the door and then the large wooden chunk being slid open. An informant told me and a group of ninja to go to the Hokage’s office. The ninja decided to teleport us there; not wasting any time. Once we were in his office, he asked some ninja to leave, so only two remained. One being Kakashi, and the other I didn’t know, but he seemed to be acquainted with Kakashi, so we might have a higher chance of being able to get along.

The Hokage gazed at us with a serious stare.

Then, he began to speak, “We have looked over almost all of your recorded memories," queue long dramatic pause, “as of now my council and I do not believe you to be a threat to our village, and to only be considered a criminal and murderer due to your…unfortunate situation.” I let out my once held breathe with a deep exhale.

“But,” my breath caught in my throat once again, “We are still not completely sure of where your loyalties lie, and therefore have decided to put you under the watch of two of our most skilled jonin; Kakashi and Yamato.”

“You will be monitored by them until further notice, if you are deemed safe, then you will be eligible to become a leaf shinobi,” he finished, then turned and spoke directly to the two leaf ninja, “She has a very powerful tailed beast inside of her, which is why I have chosen you two in case of any accidents. You must protect the village with your will of fire; that is your mission.”

And with that we were excused.

We walked awkwardly through the streets of Konoha. I was barely listening to their conversation; my brain was still trying to comprehend my situation. So, on the good side I’m still alive and well, and I might finally be accepted into a village. On the bad side, I was going to be monitored and living with two men, one of which I already know to be a slight perv, the other, I hope not. I sighed deeply and stuck my hands in my shorts’ pockets. The leaf duo then turned and looked to me, slowing down so that they were on either side of me as we walked.

“Sode, this is Yamato, he is a close comrade of mine”, Kakashi said, introducing me to the man to my right, and not using my real name because he was unsure whether I was comfortable with others knowing my actual name. I smiled at his thoughtful actions, and turned my gaze onto a man with short brunette hair, and a metal sort of half-mask covering only the sides of his face and part of his forehead. He stuck his hand out to me a bit shyly, I grinned and took his hand, shaking it firmly, and said “Nice to meet you Yamato, I'm Yokina, Washi Yokina, but you guys can call me Yoki for short.”

He gave me a crooked smile, slightly surprised by my enthusiasm. Kakashi was lost in his  book, his other hand in his pocket and the usual bored expression displayed on his face, so Yamato and I made small talk; not really talking about any one particularly important thing.

We finally stopped at an apartment complex and stood in front of a dark brown, wooden door. Kakashi unlocked the door. I walked in and saw that it was a medium sized apartment. There were two rooms, each with a small twin sized bed, and a connected restroom, with no shower. There was a main bathroom with a shower and tub down a small hallway. I strolled into the living room; it had a couch and t-v, and a small table. A small kitchen was sort of connected in a way, to the living room; there was a little dining table in there too.

It wasn’t too dirty for an apartment occupied by two males, and I think I could grow accustomed to these surroundings. I smiled content, until I realized there were only two rooms and two beds. I looked at the two men who had been waiting for me to finish looking around, “So I’ll take the couch then,” I stated as I sat my backpack (which had been returned to me once I left the hospital...No weapons of course) against the leg of the couch and lay down. They both tried to object, and we argued for nearly 45 minutes before they finally gave in to my stubbornness. I smiled in victory; maybe living with two guys won’t be too bad after all.
