After The Storm *Kakashi Hatake* (Naruto Fanfiction)

Chapter 10

Kakashi P.O.V.

            The next day Team 7 had to travel to the bridge with Tazuna to keep watch until they finished up their work. Yoki was quiet, which was very unlike her. She seemed tired, and out of it, depressed as well. We began to help the builders move and construct things, as I was doing this I attempted to start a conversation with Yoki.

            “You alright?” I asked quietly as I brushed past her.

            “Just peachy," she said in an even tone.

            I gave her a look. She closed her eyes and exhaled deeply.

            “Just drop it Kakashi, it is none of your concern," she snapped.

My eyes widened slightly at her tone and attitude.

                “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude," I say apologetically and walk away from her.

            We continue working, until suddenly mist starts emerging and I can barely see a foot in front of me. I drop what I was doing and immediately pull up my headband to reveal my sharingan. Zabuza emerges and the battle begins. Haku; Zabuza’s ‘team mate’, begins attacking Sasuke as Sakura stands off to the side guarding Tazuna. Yoki then suddenly jumps in between mine and Zabuza’s battle.

She does a bunch of hand signs, bites her thumb, and yells “Summoning Jutsu!”

A large black and grey wolf with different colored eyes appears along with a red-black-white wolf that is slightly smaller.

“Kuma”, Yoki directs towards the large black wolf, “I’m going to need your assistance, Hana, I need you to help the dark haired maskless youngster over there."

            The small red wolf darts over to Sasuke but Kuma remains, stands and stairs at Zabuza with calculating eyes. He then disappears in a flash of lines and is behind Zabuza in less than a second. Yoki beats her wings furiously, causing a gale of wind to push Zabuza back, straight into Kuma’s fangs. Kuma pins down Zabuza, but Zabuza manages to get out of the wolf’s grasp and swings his sword at the animal. Kuma darts away just in time to avoid Zabuza’s attack.

Hana’s P.O.V.

            I follow Yokina’s orders and dash over to the raven-haired child that is battling with the masked one. I dig into the ground and manage to clamp on the masked one’s ankle. Sasuke is able to land a few hits before I lose my hold on the boy. I jump out and try my best to assist Sasuke, but he is forced into a ‘prison’ of ice mirrors that Haku has conjured up. Once inside I cannot really assist him, I growl in annoyance and begin pacing as I watch needle after needle slash the raven-haired boy. Suddenly there is a puff of smoke and a blonde child appears. I flatten my ears in distaste at his loud entrance. He jumps into the range of ice mirrors, and if I could, I would face palm right about now. Sasuke begins lecturing and scolding Naruto, and then they are both bombarded with the needles.

            I begin trying to damage the ice by jumping up and dragging my claws across the cool surface. It makes a horrible noise, but does little damage. I keep at it, yet soon grow tired. I’m panting heavily now, but it seems there’s nothing I can do as I watch Sasuke fall to the ground from protecting Naruto from a squad of needles. He lies there barely breathing, and suddenly, Naruto looses it. I whimper and my tail instinctively goes in between my legs as I back up. There is a glowing red chakra in the atmosphere, it’s filled with hatred and anger, power laced in as well. I look on in horror, but before I know it, Yoki releases my summoning, and I am teleported away from the area.

Yoki P.O.V.

            I feel a surge of power coming from the separate battle and I look over to find the ice mirrors shattered, a fox-like red chakra rising in the area. I see Hana off to the side, whimpering and slowly stepping back; I unsummon her before she gets hurt. My attention is forced back to Zabuza as he viciously and relentlessly attacks Kakashi. I focus and make a two tailed chakra cloak from the juubi chakra. I run at Zabuza, to fast for the naked eye to see, and claw at his chest with my nails that have become talons, jumping away as he swings at me. I wrap my hand around his wrist and twist it behind him as my other hand takes the other wrist that is holding the sword. I dislocate his arms and hold him there as Kakashi prepares his chidori.

            Just as Kakashi is about to make contact with Zabuza’s chest, Haku appears in front of him. It’s a direct hit and Haku falls to the ground. Zabuza mutters something about “Haku being a good tool.. Haku you came in handy” etc.. etc…

          I spit at him, “How can you say that!?! He died for you," my anger is now building up. Naruto also is enraged and begins ranting and yelling at Zabuza. My eyes widen as tears slip from Zabuza’s eyes, the so-called ‘silent killer’. A short fat man appears on the bridge along with an army of burglars and the like.

            With tears sliding down his cheeks, Naruto places a kunai in Zabuza’s mouth and the demon of the mist makes his last kills. Kakashi makes many shadow clones, and many of the villagers chip in. Zabuza kills Gato and the tubby man falls to the waters below. With many of Gato’s men dead and the rest gone, Zabuza collapses.

“Can you place me next to him?" Zabuza whispers.

My heart begins to ache at the scene unfolding before me, I silently cry as Zabuza takes his last breathe and the snowflakes fall around us.

Third person P.O.V.

            The bridge is finished, and named, ‘The Great Naruto Bridge’. Zabuza and Haku are buried side by side, Zabuza’s sword protrudes from the ground. And with this, the ninja of the Leaf depart. They are all worn out, both emotionally and physically. The way back is quiet, thoughtful.

            Of course leaving out Naruto’s loud talking, and Sakura’s scolding, yelling, and abuse towards Naruto…..

Kakashi’s P.O.V.

            After the fight and Yoki silently crying for Zabuza and Haku, she returned to her depressed irritated mood. She wasn’t joining in our conversations, and seemed to zone out a lot, taking on a very thoughtful expression. Her eyes were glazed over as we walked into the village gates. She departed with a small ‘goodbye’ and headed home while I went to report to the Hokage.

I wonder what’s on her mind.

hope you like it, sorry if i didn't really go into detail, it's been a while since i've seen this episode, and i'm lazy..... also, sorry if it strays from what they acually said, and fromt the storyline!
