After a couple of precautionary D and C ranked missions, the Hokage finally decided that Sakana and I were ready for something that fit our abilities. He sent the two of us on a B-rank that was just outside the village, in a closely neighboring land, gathering intel on a few ninja that were suspected of stealing information.
That mission was rather uneventful; we caught up to the ninja, which turned out to be a group of just three jonin that were only just above chunin level. They were defeated quickly, and the information they'd obtained managed to remain safe due to us tracking them quickly and efficiently.
There were a few more B-ranks that the Hokage put us on together, they became rather boring after a while; they were to easy.
Yamato had recently told us about him being an anbu, and since we'd found out, and been promoted to ninja, he didn't have to hide it, or look after us anymore. He'd been assigned missions more frequently, all of them advanced anbu ones which worried Sakana a great deal, though she tried her best not to show it. Kakashi had also been busy training the kids, and preparing them for the chunin exams.
I got up early today and chose to go do some training, Kakashi had decided to try teaching me Chidori and a few of his other techniques. I'd almost gotten Chidori down, but I wanted to get to the point where I could do a few Chidoris wiith out getting chakra exhaustion. I was also working on a few other jutsus of my own creation. With the heightened ninjutsu ability that my tailed beast gave me, I could use almost all chakra types, though my best were lightning and fire, which I assume would have been my only chakra types had I not contained a demon within me.
I've been working on a justu called, 'Combined Chakra: Chakra natures pack'
It consisted of a release of each form of chakra nature in the form of a wolf. There was an earth wolf made out of rock, a lightning wolf made out of electricity, a fire wolf of flames, a water wolf of... well.. water.
I'd almost reached perfection in both the Chidori and Chakra Pack. Upon performing the pack jutsu at the training grounds, an anbu jumped onto the field behind me, only just mananging to dodge a bad burn from my fire wolf. I hadn't been aiming at the anbu of course, but I managed to manipulate the chakra within the wolves so that they followed movement and heat that didn't belong to me.
Anyways, the anbu informed me that I was needed at the Hokage's office within the hour. I sighed, a light sheen of sweat covering my forehead, and my cheeks flushed from the slight exertion of training.
I dismissed the messenger and transported myself home, taking a quick shower, and then finding that Sakana was still sound asleep... meaning that for once, we weren't getting called to the Hokage's at the same time. I teleported myself to the Hokage's mansion, then knocked before entering.
"Come in," his gravellly old voice called.
I quietly entered, and shut the door behind me, standing dead center in front of his desk with my arms behind my back.
He smiled at me, "Yoki-san," he greeted.
I bowed my head slightly, "Hokage-sama."
"I am to assign you your first A-rank mission," he explains.
I nod, trying to hide my excitement at the possibility of a challenge.
"You are to gather intel on a group that may be associating themselves with a growing criminal organization called the Akatsuki," he began, "If they are beginning to interact with the larger group, then you are to eliminate them," he finishes stonily.
"Hai," I reply.
"Here is a the rest of the information you'll need to know," he states handing me a scroll, "You are dismissed, leave before sundown," he demands.
"Hai, Hokage-sama," I reply, then transport out of his office to my home.
I read the rest of the scroll, and the list of names of suspects.
I begin to pack my things: my weapons pouch filled with an assortment of shuriken and kunai, a katana that Kakashi had bought me at a recent festival, a few bandages and medical supplies, and some food.
I was soon on my way out, I made sure to leave a note with a basic "I've got a mission, won't be back for a little while" instead of going into detail about the mission.
As I reach for the door, it opens to reveal Kakashi. My eyes widen only a fraction in surprise, as do his.
"Hello," he says with a closed eye smile.
"Hi Kakashi-kun," I say with a smile.
A slight blush reaches his cheeks at the "kun" part.
"Are you heading out on a mission?" he asks as he analyzes my appearance.
"Yup," I say popping the 'p', "my first A-rank."
His eyes darken a little with worry, "Be carefel," he says a little quiter then he'd been speaking before.
"Don't underestimate me, I was an S-rank criminal," I remind him, poking him in the chest.
"Yes, yes I know," he answers, rolling his eyes, "that doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful though."
"Don't worry about me, I'll be back within a day or two, focus on your students," I say smiling, then I lean up to peck him on the lips through his mask. I reach up and ruffle his hair, "Bye, Kakashi," I state, and he smiles in return, "Bye Yoki."
I then pass by him and he closes the door behind me.
I race along the rooftops and reach the gates rather quickly, I wave to the guards as I pass, then jog at a brisk pace once I reach the trees.
I'm off on my first A-rank mission!
