After The Storm *Kakashi Hatake* (Naruto Fanfiction)

Chapter 7

** Yoki’s P.O.V.**

            We stayed inside most of the day; and I grew very, very bored. I was currently sprawled out across the couch staring at the ceiling. I’d been in the same position for a couple of hours now, and didn’t have anything to do still.

Suddenly an anbu appeared in the living room. Immediately I was up and had a kunai in my hand. He pulled one out as well when he saw me. But, Kakashi came in and grabbed my wrist and I immediately released the kunai, suddenly realizing my actions. I stepped back and took my arm out of his grasp, only for both my hands to be held behind me by Yamato. The anbu wasn’t on guard anymore and whispered a message to Kakashi, then poofed off. Kakashi then turned and gave me an unsure look.

“I was caught off guard, I’m just being jumpy… I wasn’t going to attack him”, I said truthfully, my eyes downcast in shame.

He just hm’d, “We are to report to the Hokage’s office," he stated.

We all transported in a cloud of smoke into the Hokage’s office. The Hokage greeted us and began speaking straight away, “Kakashi needs to get back to training his genin, and Yamato has other duties he must attend to as well. So, I’ve decided to place Sode on Team 7 for now. She can be somewhat of a back up sensei, but you must keep an eye on her at all times until I have deemed her trustworthy.”

‘I'm right here gramps’, I think to myself in my head while looking away with a slight role of my eyes. Kakashi and Yamato agree, and we teleport right outside the Hokage building after our last few words with the old man. Yamato then takes his leave and Kakashi takes me to the training grounds to meat his genin.

Once we poof in front of them, a girl with pink hair and emerald green eyes and a boy with blonde hair and sky blue eyes both yell out “YOU’RE LATE!” at Kakashi. I give him a questioning look as he makes a valid excuse about going to the Hokage with me and me becoming a new member of the team. The two look unsatisfied, but leave it alone due to the seemingly believable excuse. I look over to the third kid, raven hair in a duck butt hair cut, onyx eyes. He’s quite during the entire exchange.

Kakashi then asks the group to introduce themselves.

“I’m Haruno Sakura”, the pink haired girl says, “I like-- my dream is--" (she mumbles this while glancing over at Sasuke mutliple times and blushing)

“I get it," I say in hopes of stopping her mini fangirling.

“Uzumaki Naruto here, BELIEVE IT! I love ramen, especially the kind at ichiraku ramen shop that Iruka-sensei brings me to, I like the heat up kind to, but I hate the three minutes you have to wait for the ramen to cool. I’m gunna be Hokage one day!” He says with a huge grin and a thumbs up. I smile back at his enthusiasm.

Then look over to Sasuke. “My name is Uchiha Sasuke, I don’t particularly like anything, and my goal is not a dream, for I will make it a reality… I will kill a certain someone," he says in an even tone.

I narrow my eyes at him, then introduce myself. “My name is Sode, just Sode… for now. I was an S-rank criminal until this village took me in. I am the jinjuriki of the ten tailed eagle. I don’t have many likes other than relaxing… I like flying and drawing, I hate people who kill for the fun of it. I currently don’t have a dream or goal, I’ve just been working to survive," I say with an apathetic semblance.

The genin’s eyes are all widened at finding out their new sensei was an S-rank criminal that houses a demon.

“Y-You can fly?” the pink manages to stutter out after a little while of them staring bug-eyed at me.

“Yes, I can tap into the chakra of my tailed demon and grow wings, I’ve created a sort of bond that allows me to use his energy," I explain.

“Prove it," duck butt states coldly and disbelievingly.

“Alright," I say with a closed eye smile as I step back and focus on mine and the demon’s chakra.

Golden-feathered wings grow out of my back and I jump up and have myself hover a little wile above the ground. But, due to my still injured state, I couldn’t hold the position for long. I landed back in front of them and retracted my wings. They are still looking at me with shock.

“Ok, so, let’s go get a mission so we can bond and get to know our new teammate’s abilities," Kakashi says after an awkward silence.

We get a mission to catch a cat….  I don’t object, but it’s not like it would do anything if I did. So, I’m stuck behind a tree sending out my location to the others while the cat is sitting a couple of feet away. Naruto jumps out and glomps the cat while it tries to claw his face to shreds. We get the cat back to its owner, and I can sympathize with its reasons for running away as its owner is slowly suffocating him in a bone shattering hug. Then, we take on missions like picking weeds and walking dogs, we’ve also had to return the same cat several times in the past month.

I’ve been getting irritated with these missions, but I haven’t been able to mention anything. Finally, one day Naruto blurts out about not getting any good missions. Iruka-sensei yells at him, but eventually the Hokage gives us a C- Rank (better than a D-rank at least). I have to say Naruto is my saviour with this one. 

We are to escort some bridge builder home. When the Hokage calls in the recipient of our services, an old man walks in with a bottle of some sort of alcoholic drink. He wobbles over and begins talking while slurring here and there.

“Hey, how are these kids supposed to protect me…especially the short one with the dopey look on his face”, the man taunts while staring at us.

“Haha, who’s the short one?” Naruto asks smiling.

Height order is Kakashi, me, Sasuke, Sakura, and then Naruto. Upon realizing this, Naruto goes to attack the man, yelling insults and retorts, while Kakashi restrains him.

“You can’t attack the client Naruto," Kakashi says bored.

“This is Tazuna, he is a bridge builder that needs your group to escort him home so he can finish the bridge he’s been working on."

Kakashi accepts the mission. While I stand in the corner with my head slowly hitting against the wall… this is going to be a long mission full of a drunk old man complaining and whiny hyper Naruto yelling during every second of every minute of every hour of every day…..

... ugh
