He was gone

Liv quickly panicked, where was he?! Why wasn't he in his room! She went and found a nurse. "Excuse me, can you please tell me what happened to Elliot Stabler?" "Who are you?" "His girlfriend and partner." the nurse nodded. "He's in a coma, we moved him to room 283. It's right down the hall." Liv let out a sigh of relief, he was safe. But he was in a coma, "D-do you know how long he's in a coma for?" "The doctor said about a week to a month."

Liv stood there, a week to a month. He would miss a month of anything new happening with the baby, she'd miss a month without his voice, his smile, his blue eyes, a month without him. She wanted to cry, she couldn't deal a month without him. She walked to his room, she sat down and held his hand. "Hi El, you have to wake up soon. I can't have you gone that long." She laughed quietly with tears. "Please wake up soon." she kissed his cheek and sat down in the chair.

~ 2 weeks later ~

Elliot was still in a coma, Liv didn't leave his side. She only left to take a shower, change clothes, and eat. She slept in the same uncomfortable hospital chair, she knew it probably wasn't good for her back, but there was no way she was leaving his side. She wanted to be the first one he saw when he woke up. She was about to leave when she bumped into someone

"Watch where your going asshole." She mumbled under her breath. She looked up and saw Dr. Aaron Smith, she had been avoiding him this whole time, because she didn't want to go out with him but he was not giving up.

"Olivia, hi." He smiled. Liv put on a fake smile "Hi Dr.Smith." "How have you been?" "Good, excuse me but I should probably go." "Wait, are you doing anything tonight?" "Look I don't want to go on a date with you." she needed him to know that, but for some reason he was not getting that through his head. "Just one date, tonight at 8. Anywhere you want to go." Liv sighed "If I go on this one date will you stop asking?" "Yes." "Fine, i'll go." He smiled "Okay, text me later." Liv nodded.

She was not looking forward to this, but a little part of her was excited. She sighed, it's the hormones she reminded herself. Tonight she wasn't going to put any effort into dressing up nice, she'd go to dinner and that was it. Nothing else.

It was around 7 when Liv got ready, wearing a simple black dress, her hair curled and black flats. She didn't want to go all out, this was just a meaningless dinner. Not a date. Aaron could call it a date, but this was just dinner to Liv. She was about ready to leave, she looked at her phone. A picture of her and Elliot as the home screen.

She smiled, she missed him so much. She looked at her battery percentage, it was almost dead. She sighed, she had totally forgotten to charge it, she left her phone no use in bringing a dead phone. She left and made her way to the restaurant, she had told Aaron that they could just meet there, she didn't need him picking her up, because then that would be a date.

It was a quiet in Elliot's hospital room, everyday he heard her voice, all he wanted to do was just wake up and kiss her, but he couldn't he was trapped. He had made arrangements before all this to propose to Liv, he had the ring in his pocket when he got shot, he was going to do it that day, but then the fight got in the way. He needed to fix this, soon enough his eyes turned from darkness to light, he was awake.

He sat up, he called the nurse in. "Hello Mr.Stabler, I see your awake now." Elliot nodded "When can I leave?" the nurse laughed "You can leave tonight, let me just get your discharge papers." Elliot smiled, he was finally able to leave. He was going to go to Liv's house and propose. He saw his clothes by his bed, he picked up his pants and took the velvet box out.

He took the ring out, it was a heart shaped diamond, engraved in the wedding ban was "To the love of my life." he had been in the jewelry store for a few minutes until the ring caught his eye, he knew that this was the ring. He quickly changed his clothes and signed the papers, leaving the hospital only one place was in his mind, and that was to Liv.

Liv had a nice time tonight, they went to an Italian restaurant, they had gotten to know each other. She would be lying if she said she didn't have fun, for the past 2 weeks she was cooped up in the hospital room, no one to talk to or anything. She couldn't help but feel guilty, she was at dinner with a man that wasn't Elliot, of course she knew this would look wrong to anyone, but it didn't mean anything to Liv.

It was dinner with an friend, that's all. They had left around 9ish, he had insisted on bringing her home, she didn't decline because she didn't want to be rude. He had walked her up, she had turned to say she had a good night before his lips were on hers.

Elliot had caught a cab and rode to Liv's house, his palms sweating from being nervous, to be honest he didn't know if she would say yes. That fight, she had said there was no us, but in the hospital he had heard her say I love you to him all the time. He was getting mixed emotions from her, if she said yes he'd be ecstatic, if she said no he wouldn't know what to do.

He of course would be heartbroken, he would have lost the one thing important to him. He would have lost his best friend, his partner, his love. The cab had pulled up to their apartment building, His heart was beating, he took the elevator, the ride up felt like the longest seconds of his life, the doors had finally opened, he walked out. He saw her kissing someone, his heart broke.

He pulled the velvet box out, he slid it to them and walked back into the elevator. Before the elevator doors shut tears had already started streaming down his face. That was it, he lost her. He lost the love of his life.
