Chapter 21: End Of A Relationship

"Liv....why would you think that?!" He yelled. She flinched at his tone "I-I'm sorry." She ran to the bathroom crying. She locked the door and sat with her knees to her chest, she cried silently. She should have known he wouldn't cheat on her, she shook her head at her stupidity. "You just ruined the best thing to ever happen to you." She whispered to herself.

She heard a little knock "Go away." She whispered barely able to get it out through her tears. "Mama it's me, Eli." Liv wiped her tears and straightened herself up "What's wrong baby?" "Daddy yell, he scare me." Liv opened the door letting the little boy walk in. She shut the door locking it, she held the little boy in her arms.

"Why daddy yell?" "Because I made him mad, I'm sorry he scared you baby." Eli held onto her "It otay mama." He kissed her cheek "He left, we go back out now." He got up and held her hand. She smiled and got up, she walked out first for any sign of Elliot, when their was none she walked to the bed and got in, she pulled back the covers and motioned for Eli to get in.

He smiled and jumped in, he cuddled up to her "I love you mama." "I love you too pumpkin." She kissed his head, she sang to him quietly until she heard his breathing even out. She carefully held him and let sleep take over her.

She was woken up to an arm wrapped around her waist and the smell of alcohol, she tensed up. She looked down at the arm immediately recognizing it as Elliot's. She sighed softly and moved his arm moving her and Eli farther away from him. She heard him curse under his breath. She didn't care if he was mad before, he didn't need to leave and get drunk when they had fought.

She picked up Eli bringing him to his room, she didn't need him seeing his dad like this. She tucked him into his bed "I love you baby, so much. Sweet dreams pumpkin." She whispered and kissed his head. She turned on the night light and left the door open a crack.

She walked back into the room ignoring Elliot's presence, she laid down her back towards him. "Baby." he whispered. "Don't call me baby, and don't talk to me." She said in a harsh whisper. "Liv, please." "No Elliot, your drunk go to bed." He sighed "Can I at least hold you?" as much as she wanted it, it wouldn't be a good idea. "No." She whispered, a lone tear making its way down her cheek.

She didn't bother to wipe it, she closed her eyes. She didn't know how or when they were going to talk but it was not going to be pretty.

She woke up and rolled over, she smiled. Eli has somehow made his way back into the room in the night and laid on Elliot, Elliot's arm draped around Eli. She picked up Eli and held him close. She kissed his head "I love you baby." She whispered and hummed to him while he slept. She had closed her eyes for a second until she heard Elliot run to the bathroom, she sighed.

His hangover was starting, she gently laid Eli down. She grabbed a bottle of water and made her way into the bathroom. She rubbed Elliot's back while he threw up, doing this brought back memories she would rather not think about. She felt Elliot move, she opened the water "Drink." She held it in front of his face.

He chugged the whole bottle "Thank you." He whispered. She nodded and walked back to bed, she picked up Eli gently and carried him to the couch. She laid on the couch and held Eli on her chest. Elliot came out minutes later "Liv can we talk?" "Not now. Eli's sleeping." She moved so her back was towards him.

Eli stirred in his sleep and blinked his eyes open "Mommy." He yawned "Morning pumpkin." She smiled. "I go school?" "Yes baby, you have school. Go jump in the shower and I'll pick out your clothes and make your lunch." "Otay mama." He kissed her cheek and went to take a shower. She got up ignoring Elliot and walked around Eli's room picking out clothes and packing his bag.

Elliot walked in quietly "Liv can we please talk." "Fine Elliot. What do you want?" a hint of annoyance in each word. "I'm sorry for last night." "It's fine Elliot, if you rather go out and get drunk then talking to me while I cry my eyes out its fine." She pushed past him and walked to the kitchen getting started on Eli's lunch.

Elliot walked behind her and put his arms around her "Liv please. I messed up." "I said it was fine." "You and me both know it's not." "Whatever Elliot." She moved his arms. He sighed "I'm sorry Liv, I'm sorry I messed up. I'm sorry that you think that I would cheat on you. I'm sorry you don't trust me." He walked to the bedroom slamming the door.

Liv hit her fist off the counter, what was happening to them?

After she had everything ready for Eli to take she made her way to the bedroom. She walked in and met was silence, she was hoping that she'd walk in and Elliot would be waiting for her so they could just make up and forget the whole thing. She noticed Elliot coming from the closet, she pulled him to her. "Liv let go." she didn't answer him and kissed him.

He pulled away and started walking down the hall "Elliot!" She called out to him. "What." His back turned to her. "C-can you tell Cragen i'm not feeling well." She said quickly and shut the door. She sat at the edge of the bed, her tears flowing down her cheeks. Was this the end for them?
