JOSHUA'S POV
"Hello?" She answered. I was shocked for a moment. Then I composed myself.
"Hi! Where you at? I heard you're not home? Your mom is so worried." She was silent. I don't' know what she's thinking.
"Help me.. I'm in the middle of somewhere. I don't know where I am.. Please hurry up! Please---"
"M.A? M.A?" Shoot!
1 text message received from M.A.
I'm in this place (address of the location). Please don't tell anyone. I don't want to drag anyone. Don't come here. They are very dangerous.
I grabbed a shirt and put it on then brought an extra one.
Dali-dali kong binuksan ang sasakyan ko at nag-drive patungo sa location.
After the long drive approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, I arrived at the location where M.A said where she was. I checked my phone. No signal. How did she send that message? The place is peaceful and quiet. And you can't suspect anyone to do harm against you.
Hindi ko alam kung paano hanapin si M.A. Buti nakaisip ako ng magandang idea. I asked around and showed M.A's picture on my phone. Someone recognized her. She led me somewhere.
Napakatahimik ng lugar. Honestly, kinakabahan ako. Paano pag cannibal pala to? Help me God!
MAA'S POV
When I decided to stay for a night, they showed me my room where I can stay. Kapitan pala ang tatay ng doctor ko sa states. Ngayon ko lang nalaman. I have no reason to stay pero I want to experience a simple life for a night. How these people stay up, eat their dinner and what they do after.
At just 6PM, tinawag na nila ako para kumain. So I went to their dining room. I just noticed that they have a big family. And daming mga bata.
After we ate, the head of the family spoke to me.
"Nagpaalam ka ba sa mga magulang mo na pumadito ka?" I forgot to inform my mom. They must have been so worried now.
"Sa tingin ko hindi."
"Tatawagan ko na lang po sila ngayon."
"Walang signal sa loob ng bahay kaya kailangan mong lumabas. Pumasok ka kaagad dahil malamig sa labas."
"Sige po."
Kaya pala wala akong natatanggap na text messages o calls.
Nang nakalabas na ako, chineck ko ang phone ko. Ang daming missed calls from Mama at Toni. I called the both of them to ease them.
Pagkatapos kong makausap si Toni, nag-stay muna ako ng 15 minutes sa labas ng bahay. The air is so fresh. The weather is cool. Overlooking ang place. Kita ang city lights and busystreets. Papasok na sana ako ng bahay nang biglang tumunog and phone ko. Joshua calling...
I froze. After 2 months, ngayon lang siya tumawag. Tsk.
"Hello?"
"Hi! Where you at? I heard you're not home? Your mom is so worried." Tss. So, you called because my mom was worried. I'm about to hang up the phone when I came up with a bright idea.

Then I realized, nagkunwari pala akong hindi ko alam kung nasaan ko. Shoot!

I went inside. The night is still young but the kids are already on their bed. The grown ups are still in the living room watching TV and some playing cards. I'm observing them while they play.
"Naiinip ka ba?"
"Hindi po. Nag-eenjoy po ako. Parang alam ko na po paano laruin yan. Baka gusto niyo po ng substitute?"
"Hahaha.. Sige2. Wag mong ubusin ang pera ko ha?"
Tong-its pala ang pangalan ng laro na'to. After 2 straight wins, you'll get the pot money. Hindi pa ako naka-hits. But I won once. Ang gagaling kasi ng kapatid at anak niya. Ito ang libangan nila sa gabi. Ang olats ang gagawa ng house chores at ang pot money ay siyang ipapambili para almusal.
"Paano ba 'yan ineng talo ka. Kailangan mo pang tumira ng isang linggo dito para mapanagutan mo ang pagkatalo mo."
Dahil hindi ako umuurong sa anumang hamon, pumayag ako. Buti na lang talaga may extra clothes akong dala.
Nang papunta na kami sa kanya-kanya naming room, biglang may taong tumatawag sa may bakuran nila.
"Kapitan? Kapitan?" Sumama ako sa pagbukas ng gate nila. At nakatayo sa likod ng mag-asawa.
"Kapitan, nandito po ang boyfriend ng bisita ninyo."
Bisita, boyfriend? Ako ba ang tinutukoy na bisita? At sino ang boyfriend ko?
