26] Special Guest

I had finished filling out the papers. Everything came out perfect. I even bumped into Wayne when I left.

"May the best one win..." I said and shook his hand. "Same to you..." He said as they called his name. "There is this party that Steven is having...you know...to promote because he is running too." He said and I raised my eyebrow at him and crossed my arms.

"Interesting...I thought he got arrested?" I said. "Well he bailed out and payed top dollar so it was never mentioned. And thats what the party is for...to make up those bad points." He said and I nodded.

"Would you like to go with me...It would be a pleasure." He said and I glanced at him. "I will think about it." I said. And of all people to come threw the door, Dent came in.

Bruce gave him a smile that hid the annoyance and hatred beneath.  "Why Dent we were just talking about your party this Friday." I said shaking his hand.

"Oh good, I just came to sign up...I heard you two are also running." He said and we nodded. "Ill see you two on Friday okay." Bruce said and I waved bye as he left with a smile on his face.

"Miss V speaking of the party would you like to be my special guest?" He asked and I looked at him curiously. "Special guest?" I asked and he nodded.

"Of course, for your bravery in Bruce's party on holding of the Joker and how you told batman to help the civilian instead of yourself. It must be recognized." He said and I thought...perfect.

"I would be honored...Steven." I said with a small smile. "Would you also like to be my date? Now that would be a honor." He said and I gave half a smile.

"Mr. Wayne here already asked me and I haven't given him a solid answer First come first serve I guess...but I will think about it." I said.

"Thats fine ill see you on Friday." He said and walked away. I sighed and shook my head. This wouldn't be happening if I was a guy.

I walked down the stares and got my phone from my belt. I called the joker and it rang twice before he picked up.

"Hellloooo?" He sang as I listened to the faint wails in the background. "Are you busy? I just finished and It went by fine. Bruce and Steven both asked me out for a party, I haven't given them a answer." I said walking down the steps.

"Oh really...Well I just finished robbing a bank if your wondering what the sounds are about." He said as I reached the lobby. I passed the lobby desk and glanced at the T.V. "Well at least you are-" I stopped and back up.

I looked at the reporters filming the scene. You could see him clearly leaning against a light pole on the phone as they recorded live. "Wait your still at the scene!?! You idiot I can see you on the T.V! Why didn't you tell me you were busy?" I whispered yelled into the Phone.

"Im never busy for you doll, anyways the police wont be here for another 5 minutes." He said as I saw him look at the cameras and wave.

I slowly raised my hand and waved back but stopped. "You clown! You made me wave back! They think I'm crazy! Get out of there I was just here with Bruce." I said looking at the T.V again as I saw him laugh.

"Okay toots, don't worry jeez. Ill see ya at your house." He said and hung up waving bye at the camera as he jumped in to a van and drove off. Oh my god...

I walked out and got in my car. How does he think that he can talk to me so casually while. Ugh it annoys the hell out of me. I started driving towards my home a few miles away.

I slammed on the brakes nearly hitting a speeding van with a Bat Mobile racing behind it.

I caught my breath and nearly shot my phone when it rang. I put my gun back and kept on driving as I saw the van make a dramatic turn a block away.
