DINA'S P.O.V
This is what I've been scared of; a goodbye.
We have got back to the main land and the bus took us all to the airport. I sat on my first spot, at the back of the bus. Connor has joined me since we hopped in. No words needed to be spoken. I've already hurt like that.
"We arrive." Steve nodded slowly at me.
"I'm gonna help you checking in." I replied short.
Connor tried to hold my right hand as I reached the bus door. I shook my head. Let's not make it twice harder, shall we?
I ran to the departure gate and showed the airport security my badge. Steve was right behind me. The guys and our driver were busy unloading baggages from the bus to the four trolleys.
"Dina, are you okay?" Steve rubbed my back.
"Can I lie?" I shrugged. "I don't know. It's complicated Steve. And too fast."
"I know... But let me tell you something. It's not your fault you fall in love with him this fast."
"I've hurt myself and him too." I mumbled, scanned my eyes through the front gate and found his back. "Gosh this is horrible."
"Make peace with that, girl. You can't fight like this. Get along with your heart. Be positive that somewhat someday he'll come back."
"It's not the come back that I've been worried about."
"Then?"
I stared at Steve's eyes. He caught me half crying. "Then Steve, what would we actually do when we meet again? How could we hold on? I'm nowhere near the States, and he has nothing to do with either Indonesia or England. How do we conclude this?"
Steve nodded. See? How make sense my questions were? Because that's the truth. I had no idea how we're holding. Distance was not that cool to keep the romance sweet.
"Sir, here they are. Thank you." The check-in counter lady handed Steve the all five boarding passes.
"Cool. Thanks." Steve gave one pass to me. "You deal with it. There is still fifteen minutes before the time."
I looked at it. Of course it's Connor's. I walked toward him. He immediately opened his arms wide to hug me.
"Hun, I'm so sorry..."
"No don't be sorry. It's been beautiful." I shook my head. "But how do you think we handle this?"
"I'll come back for you-"
"Someday." I nodded. "Don't push yourself. Some things are left to be unfinished."
"No. There is the end of this story and I can tell you babe, it's not our end."
"Let me try to embrace that then." I hugged him dearly. "Safe flight..., love."
"Oh gosh." Connor placed his head on my shoulder.
Everybody stepped aside. I didn't care of people anymore. No matter even if there were paps around us, I'd rather be inside his hug. Glanced at the watch on my wrist, it's no longer than five minutes.
"You go inside." I ran my fingers through his messy hair.
"Baby..." Connor tightened my fingers around his. "Can't I kiss you?"
"It's Indonesia. You can't do it in public."
Out of sudden Steve approached Connor and whispered something to him. Connor nodded. I had no idea what they were talking about. Next second, Connor pulled my hand to this one empty spot at the corner of the departure gate. I looked around. One CCTV blind spot because it was likely an abandoned corner out of this very large check-in room.
"Close your eyes." Connor whispered.
I obeyed. He didn't waste no time. His soft lips attacked mine. We battled each other's romantically. His left hand made its way to wrap my waist, and his right hand held my left cheek to make sure nothing would break the kiss. I wrapped my arms round his neck. Eyes closed. Tears streaming down my face. Connor quickly swept them away without stop kissing.
Please, anyone, I beg you, please freeze the time.
"I love you so...much. Babe I promise I will be back. I'll find out why. Let me worry that for you. I love you."
"I love you too." I laid my forehead on his. "Then come back soon."
"That's my girl." Connor pinched my cheek. "See? We can do it in public."
His words made me chuckle and choke at the same time. "Babe, look around. We kissed in front of dried plants over there and to the old walls in a blind spot. Define romantic for me."
"Hahaha. Let me take you to the place and time where I can kiss you at any seconds I want."
I threw my head deep inside his hug. "Please do."
We locked each other's eyes once again. I stroked his brows to mesmerize these two clear blue eyes. You have no idea how much I adore them. I ran my fingers slowly through his nose, and lips, chin, and jawline.
"I need something to remember." I smiled in tears. "C'mon, you're running late."
Connor kissed the corner of lips again without warning, and dragged me by lifting up my waist toward his side. We walked together back to where everybody was.
"See you again, giant food stealer." I hugged Toby first.
"I'm gonna miss you and your leftover food." He spun me around. "It's been a pleasure stealing your food."
"Ha." I chuckled. "Hey you, Ryan Muscler."
"Heeey..." Ryan hugged and kissed my cheek. "Gonna miss you, little deary."
"Little." I slapped his arm. "How dare you."
"Can't you see yourself?" Ryan sassed me back but I guess I was too sweet for him. "Ah no I'm joking. Oh correction. I actually was not joking, but you're too cute."
"Finally you learn something." I smirked. "And there's you Tom."
"Hello good girl. Been wonderful couple days we have with you."
"Text me sometimes, okay? Stay cool." I kissed his cheek.
"Will do sweety." Thomas returned me one.
"Thank you so much Dina, you've been amazing." James hugged me tight.
"Anytime, daddy Jamie."
"See you in Orlando." He winked.
"Ah..." I got more words stuck in my throat but I have choked already. "Hmm yeah maybe."
"Come here you little darling." Riley spun me around. "Thank you so much for beautiful days in Jakarta."
"Come back very soon. Okay?" I wrapped Riley's waist with my both arms. "Gonna miss you."
This goodbye moment was the saddest I've ever been into. Connor wrapped my waist from behind, whispered three times how much he loved me, then finally and seriously had to leave.
Our fingers were still intertwined. I wasn't planning on letting it go but flight couldn't wait any longer. We slowly untied our hands, though it's so hard to do. Connor kept looking back. I locked my eyes to every little part of him, didn't want it to disappear.
Then Connor suddenly left his backpack on the floor, ran back to me, kissed my forehead and eyelids. James stopped and called him. I cried thousand times harder in Steve's hug. That might be the cheesiest thing, but please do switch parts with me and feel that desperation of being left like this.
"Oh my gosh." I breathed out.
"Ssh... It's okay. You're strong." Steve supported my body.
Slowly Ryan and Thomas were disappeared from our sight. Followed by Toby. Then James, too. Riley was the one at the very last queue line with Connor. And with a single breathtaking blink, they both disappeared.
"No..."
It was like a bomb in my head. It exploded right away.
He's gone.
