DINA'S P.O.V
"Call an ambulance! Call them! Fast!"
"Hey this girl is still alive. But she's barely breathing! Keep trying to get the water out of her lungs so she can breathe!"
"Step aside! Rescue team! Please all remain standing behind the police line!"
I tried to open my eyes but very blinding sunshine hit me and I gave up. It felt burnt. I coughed couple times and half alive, I felt my mouth coughing out some water. It was salty. I couldn't remove any part of my body, not even my teeth or tongue, not even a single blink.
Was this Miami yet?
"Hi Miss I'm Carol from Crime Scene Unit. Can your hear my voice? If yes, please try to move your finger so I know you're here."
I move my thumb but I guess it didn't make any difference.
"Can you breathe?"
I responded in the same way.
"Good. Continue to breathe as normally as you can. I know there will be so many fractured bones around your lungs but you're okay. You survive. You're-"
I guess she found what I pointed in my pocket; my boarding pass.
"Miss Dina? Thank goodness. I'll be coming with you to the hospital." She grabbed my hand tightly.
I couldn't sense or guess anything that happened around me. All shouting. All yelling. Too many people running around me but this Carol girl or whoever she was, she meant it when she said she'd be by my side.
Some minutes later an ambulance showed up. I could tell it was an ambulance because the sirene was so intense. I was the first to pick. They carried me and the whole emergency stuff into the back of the van, as Carol sat next to me still holding my hands.
"Hi Dina. Let's try this again. Hello, my name is Carol. I'm with the CSU London. You are back in London because we're the closest to where you landed."
I opened my mouth. But only to cough. I couldn't even open it to say an 'A'.
"It's okay. You don't have to try. Just move any part of your body in case you want to answer, yes or no, to my question. If you feel like resting, I'll let you have your time, just close your eyes to sign it for me. But for now, since you deserve to know what happened to you, I'll start with your personal belonging."
I widened my eyes. Maybe that's the signal of me wanting to know every single damn thing happened few hours ago. And most importantly, how I could still be alive.
"Is this your belonging? One black hard-case suitcase? Only that?"
I moved my finger.
"Were you planning to go to Miami for business?"
I responded.
"Do you have any family in London or around the UK?"
Sadly, you know the answer's no. I shook my head the best I could even though she almost couldn't tell it. And Carol let out a deep sigh. She now had my passport with Visa included, whatever left from my boarding pass, my suitcase, but no number to call. Hey I didn't lose my memory. I knew I could dial Brianne's number but I had no power to ask Carol to give me my phone so I could dial Brianne for her. Sadly, my life was about to meet the end.
"Stay focus on me. We're approaching the hospital." She tightened her grip. "Okay. I'll be right behind you."
I signed a desperation expression to beg her not to leave me because last time I was alone, I was close to death.
"No I'm always here right when you open your eyes again." Carol walked with the nurses who carried me to the operation room. "Don't be so hard on yourself! Remember we have all time that you need to discuss this later! I'll be right over here!"
And the door's closed. I heard Carol's voice still battling the nurse to be as closer as she could to me. But not long til I passed out again.

Hospitals always have this serious specific vibe that I never like.
Good morning. Or afternoon. Or whatever in between. I opened my eyes to sleeping Carol next to me. Thank goodness she was a lady of her words. I saw crime scene box next to her, meaning she's still on duty.
I placed my hand slowly on top of her hand.
"Ca...rol?"
"Uh! Oh my gosh you're awake!" She shouted happily. "You're awake! Thank God!"
I smiled. Still too weak to tag along myself with happy expression even though I wanted to.
"How...I ended...up...here?"
"The co-pilot apparently wanted to commit suicide. He controlled the whole plane when the pilot was taking a break in the toilet. But instead of dying as he wanted himself to, he's now behind the bars."
"No..."
"Ssh... I know it's confusing. Let's take time to process it. But you deserve to know so I won't hide anything from you." She swept away my tears. "How are you?"
"Never better..."
"One slay little girl." Carol smirked. "Do you think you have any memory loss?"
I tried to rewind my life in my head. My parents. Steve. The fest. Connor.
"No..."
"That's very well. Do you have anybody I should contact to let them know you're here?"
"Two..." I signed with my hand. "Two...person..."
"Remember their names or numbers?"
"B-brianne, and Steve..."
"Who's in London? Brianne?"
I nodded. "Steve...Indonesia..."
"Steve is in Indonesia? Oh thank you. You've been really helpful. I will find their numbers on your phone. Take a good rest, okay? I'll let the doctor know you're awake."
I shut my eyes. Miami. Instead of having my feet on its ground, I spent two hours in the plane and dying floating in the ocean only to go back to London. Grateful to be alive, but maybe my chance to meet Connor was over now.
