Taylor's P.O.V.
It's been a month since Ben left. We talk every now and then on the phone, but our calls only last five minutes. They would mostly consist of him updating me on what places he's visited, and where he's going in the next month. I hardly ever spoke. But whenever we'd hang up, he'd always end the call saying, 'I love you babe, and I miss you so much." Although it had hurt me, I'd forgiven him for what he'd said to me, the night that he left, and now things couldn't really be better. Well, Ben could be here. And I wouldn't be on my own, I guess. But Kaya has been brilliant company! The day after Ben left for Europe, I'd sent her a message, briefly saying that he'd got a promotion and had to move away for a year, and within an hour, Kaya was stood outside my door with her arms full of ice cream, movies and popcorn. She was the best!

I'd done my best to tidy the living room up. Although there were some little bits and bobs on the floor, I'd stuffed most of the mess into a few stray boxes. Sighing, I collapsed onto the sofa and rubbed my temples. Just then, there was a loud knock from the door. Well, I say knock. It was more like a kick. Scrunching my eyebrows together, I jumped off the sofa and opened the door. And there on the other side, stood balancing at least four pots of ice cream and bags of popcorn in her hands, and a pile of movies on her head, was Kaya.

"Have you ever tried to knock on a door before with nothing but your feet free?" She scrunched her face up together in disgust at the idea, "Plus, I reeeeeeeaaaaaallllly hurt my pinkie toe!"

"Kaya, what are you doing here?" I laughed.

"Well duh?" She rolled her eyes, "My best friend's git of a boyfriend goes and bloody well leaves her at home for a bloody job, and now she's got her best friend here to come and save the day!"

"Ohhh, Kaya!" A large smile formed on my face, "I don't know how to thank you!"

"Well how about you help me carry these tubs and bags into your living room?" She laughed, "I don't fancy eating ice cream off of the gravel."

"Now where is this boyfriend of yours?" She asked as we dumped the food and movies on the sofa, "So I can bloody kick his arse to China and back."

"Kaya, he is already on a plane!" I laughed, taking a DVD out of its case and putting it into the DVD player. Of course, it was The Little Mermaid.

"That's alright. My arse kicking is better from a plane! Means they have longer to fall!" I couldn't help but smile as I thought of it.

"What you smiling at?" The one and only, Kaya asked. She was sat beside me at my desk, as we ate our lunch together.

"Oh nothing," I grinned, "Just how awesome my best friend is!"

"Well where is she? Let's meet her! Oh wait here she is now! Hello, are you this awesome best friend of Taylor's?" Kaya jumped up off her seat and took a few steps in front of us, before turning around and talking to her empty seat.

"Why yes I am!" She laughed, "Cause I'm just such an amazing friend! So girl, I suggest you get out of my way! My awesomeness is too much for you to handle!" Again, Kaya returned to her seat and began playing Kaya again.

"Your friend's a bit rude if you ask me!" She whispered in my ear, nudging her head in the direction of where she'd been standing a few seconds ago. I looked at her with raised eyebrows for a moment, before the pair of us burst into a fit of laughter.

"Bravo, bravo!" I laughed, clapping my hands. Kaya jumped up and bowed.

"Well, I do try my best." She giggled.

"Excuse me? Miss Brooks?" A sharp voice behind me said. I whipped around in my seat, and was met with the shrivelled old face of Mrs Grimm. No joke, that is actually her name! She was about fifty, and had long grey hair that she kept back in a tight bun. She wore moon shaped glasses, a little bit like Dumbledore, only she had none of his charm at all. Her skin was slightly grey in colour, and it was all shrivelled around her eyes and lips. Her eyes, were sunken into her skull. and I could have sworn that they were just pure black in colour. The whites of them stood out brightly in the darkness of the sunken skin around them, and they looked a little bit as if someone were shining a torch behind them. Long story short; she was creepy.

"Yes, sorry Mrs Grimm," I stifled another giggle, as did Kaya.

"Mr Thornton would like to see you in his office," She snorted, looking down over the tip of her long crooked nose.

"Oh right, okay thanks!" I smiled sweetly, putting down the remains of my sandwich. Making her distinct 'humph' noise of disapproval, Mrs Grimm turned on her heel and walked away from us. Probably to go and scare some poor intern, I thought. Saying goodbye to Kaya, I hurried down the long line of desks towards Mr Thornton's office. What was this all about?
