Taylor's P.O.V.
When we got back home, the kids spent a few days with me at my place. Sam was soon able to come out of the hospital, seeing as his injuries weren't serious and he only had a broken arm, so within a couple days he was picked up by his dad. I had taken them to see their dad before we left, but when he showed up at my door they instantly attacked him with hugs as if they hadn't seen him for a year! But that wasn't the best part. Sam had brought their new daughter.
"Oh she's perfect," I said softly, smiling down at the baby girl who lay asleep in my arms, "You've both done well."
"Yeah," Sam smiled, gently stroking her cheek with his thumb, "Sydney did all the work though. I was just there when she was born." I looked up from the baby and rose my eyebrows at Sam.
"Hey, you both did well. No questions asked," I smiled, rocking the baby in my arms, "So, what are you going to call her?"
"How about Imogen?" Mia said quietly from her seat next to me. Mia had been quiet these last few days, and it was worrying me. Of course I knew how upset she was, but I was worried about her. Smiling slightly, I held the baby in one arm and wrapped my other around Mia's shoulders.
"Hm, no there was a girl at school called Imogen who I didn't like. What about you, Teddy?" Sam asked, patting his son's knee, "You got any names?"
"Um, I like Teddy," He mumbled, fumbling with his fingers in his lap, "You could call her Teddy?" With one glance at each other, Sam and I laughed.
"Aw, Teddy that's cute, but we need to think of a different name," I chuckled as Sam ruffled Teddy's hair, "We can't have two kids with the same name."
"You know what kids?" Sam asked, clapping his hand on his knee, "How about we let your Auntie Taylor decide?"
"Oh, no I couldn't!" I protested, but my protests were drowned out by the cheers of the kids.
"Bubbles, you decide!" Mia smiled up at me with big eyes, "Do it for mummy?" A silence fell over us, and I looked over at Mia. Her eyes were pleading, and there was a slight glisten in her eyes. I could feel Sam and Teddy watching me, and I knew it was my turn to break the silence.
"Okay, I'll do it for mummy," I smiled and returned my gaze to the baby. She was such a peaceful child. Unlike me. I was always the loud child. Sydney was the quiet child. Sydney was-
"Sydney," I said suddenly, breaking the silence, "Let's call her Sydney."
"Sydney," Sam smiled, "Sydney it is."
