“Come on, go ask Alex,” I told Cris.
The two of us are going to practice, when Cris opened the topic about Prom and started asking me if he should ask Alex out.
“I don’t know,” Cris shrug.
The football field came into view and the cheer of the school’s cheerleading team could be heard from where we are standing now.
“Geez, even if you’ll just say ‘Go to Prom with me’ she’ll say yes” I murmured.
“What?” He looked at me his brows raised, smiling.
What a weird guy. “Nothing,” I shrug and chuckled.
“What is it?” He insisted.
“Nothing,” I giggled.
We happen to pass by the bleachers, heading towards the archery fields. We were about to leave the bleachers when a part of my mind told me to look back. And, stupid mind, I looked back.
There he was the reason why I don’t have lunch with my friends for more than a week. The guy who always meet me behind the gym for a picnic date. The one who made my knees wobble when he stood close to me.
He was sitting with his hand draped around Alley, who sat beside him, whispered something that made him laugh.
I could feel my chest tighten and my vision blurred with tears when I saw Alley give Ryan a kiss on the lips.
I guess this is how it feels to be hurt. Feeling of being betrayed.
I run going to the—I not even knowing where to go. I just let my feet drag me. I stopped not knowing where I am. Tears flowed uncontrollably. I felt betrayed so much. I blinked twice, and I saw I was at the archery field. I saw my bow and quiver sitting at the bench.
I grab it and I let my anger control me. I’m not sad or what, I really don’t know why I’m so mad. So mad, that I just keep on shooting not knowing where my arrows might hit.
XOXO
Alex’s POV:
“Try it again,” I said to Monique.
“She won’t answer her phone,” Monique said, while biting her nails.
Now this is bad. We called Reese for the tenth time, yet she would answer her phone. Then a name came into my mind: Ryan.
I don’t know why she’d chosen Ryan over Jess. I know those two are basketball players, but she’d known Jess longer than Ryan. Reese met Jess more than a year ago, when we went to watch one of their games and it so happened jess was there shooting hoops.
Amazed as I was, she asked me to find out who he is. And lucky her Jess was my friend. I often tease her about it.
Jess is a year younger than her, but she doesn’t mind at all. But now, I don’t get it. Why is she hanging out with Ryan?
If I were to choose between them. I’ll go for Jess. Jess has black hair, brown eyes, lean body (so much for being a sophomore), and a fine complexion. Typical Kind of guy you want to ogle with. While, Ryan, well Ryan has his own style. He has blonde hair, gray eyes, the body, um… okay but to be honest for me Jess had the point and he has a tan complexion.
I tried to warn Reese away from Ryan, but I guess that’s what they say ‘love is blind’. I wanted to slap her and say “Girl, that guy is messing up with you.” I know Ryan in terms of reputation.
Ryan has his playboy reputation, for him girls are for fun.
“She really won’t” Monique was walking back and forth.
