Reese’s POV:
“Which is much better?” Monique asked, holding up two dresses that look exactly alike.
“Monique, they are exactly the same,” Alex said, shifting from one rack to the other.
“No, they are not,” Monique protested “The other is much darker than the other.”
I rolled my eyes. Typical. Five days from now Prom. Its weekend and, the three of us decided to shop for dresses. We hop from one boutique to the other to find the dresses that suited our taste.
I was scanning the dresses three racks away from Monique. When, I spotted a cute white dress. Its sleeve is made from white satin running from chest down to the back.
“Wow,” Monique suddenly said that made me jump.
“You should try it on,” Alex said, shoving me towards the fitting room.
I held the dress in front of me. I suddenly felt awkward with this. I’ve never wore a dress. It’s above the knee and its shows off my shoulders, arm, and legs.
It has gold and silver sequence embroidered that hugs the chest portion, making it stand out.
I unzip it and pass it through my head. The cloth is soft and smooth on my skin. I whirl around letting the edges flow above my knee.
I push the curtain aside. “Can you zip it up?” I turn and point at the zipper.
Alex zips it up “You look like a goddess.”
I ran my fingers at the cloth “You think?”
“I think,” Monique said, coming up beside me “That you should have it swiped.”
I look at her “Really?”
She nodded “Go in there, and change and go to the cashier, swipe it out. We’ll go look for your shoes.”
I shrug and head for the fitting room. I changed. ”So, what shoes does this dress fit?”
“Heels,” Alex said, behind the curtain.
“WHAT?!” I burst out “No way! There is no way on earth I’m going to wear those things!”
“You will,” Alex had her devil-may-care grin. “Hurry up!”
I looked at her deadly and put my shirt on before going out with the dress on hand.
“I shouldn’t be doing this,” I said, handling the dress to the cashier.
“What?” Monique said, waving her phone.
I wave my dress in front of her. “HELLO?”
“So,” Alex said when we went out of the boutique.
“So,” I stop them before they enter the shoe store “I haven’t seen your dresses.”
Monique scoffs and Alex laughs.
“And it seems like you two are hiding something from me.”
Alex suddenly stops laughing and Monique looks at her.
“You know what?” Monique said when she regained her composure. “We need to buy you a shoe, okay?”
That’s it and she went inside the glass doors leaving me standing outside.
I saw Alex’s knuckles before following Monique. A few more. A little more, they’ll tell me everything.
When I enter Alex was at the back of the store talking to a sales lady about the black laced shoes she’s holding.
