Two weeks ago, Monique clamored about not having a date. Now, the heck, she has a date, so does Alex. A week ago, if it wasn’t for me Eric and Cris still wouldn’t have asked them for Prom.

Speaking of which, Prom is two weeks away. That is what I’ve been thinking the whole time here in my Geometry class. My notebook stood still on my table waiting for me to lay on it as I usually do.

“Okay, class, copy,” The teacher said in her usual, robot toned voice.

She wrote on the white board with black and blue pen all the equation used for reasoning. I did copy but my head keeps on thinking about Prom. Two more weeks. I don’t want to go to Prom dateless. On the other hand, maybe, I’m destined to go to Prom dateless.

I sigh, feeling frustrated. What am I thinking? I drop my head on my table.

“Class, follow,” I heard Ma’am said.

I sigh. I’m getting tired of Math. I need Alex. I look up but quickly drop my head when I saw alien equations. Curse it math.

I let out a relief sigh when I heard the bell rang. I quietly left the room. I took my phone and Beats out while making my way towards the cafeteria.

“I’m at a payphone trying to call home

All of my change that I have spent on you

Where have the times gone baby

It’s all wrong, where are the plans we made for two?

Yeah, I, I know it’s hard to remember

The people we used to be

It’s even harder to picture

That you’re not here next to me

You said—“

“Reese,” Alex took my headphones off. Beside her is Monique, who is on her phone.

“What’s up?”

“I’m tired of eating in the cafeteria,” Alex drags me towards the exit.

“But---“

“Please?”

I sigh and nodded. I’m even tired of eating in the cafeteria. They sell the same food everyday. I follow Alex and Monique at McDonald’s across school. I stare at them. They went outside for a McDonald’s?

“What do you want, Reese?” Alex asked.

“A burger and a hot fudge Sundae,” I replied.

Alex nodded “Monique?”

“Eric and his hotness,” She answered looking at the menu.

I laugh when Alex glared at Monique “Fine,” Monique taps her chin “I’ll have spaghetti, regular fries, Coke and Sundae.”

Alex went to order while Monique and I went to look for a table. After searching we found a four-seated table outside.

After five minutes Alex came back with our order. We ate in silence.

“Guys, I need to the powder room,” Alex said, after she ate her lunch.

I nodded. “I’ll go with you!” Monique grabs her fries and followed Alex inside.

I stare at they’re backs while munching on my burger. I remembered that there is WIFI in here. I took out my phone and open Facebook. I had twenty-five notifications, five friend request and four messages.

I open the notifications first; all it talks about is Prom. I opened my messages and I saw Eric, Cris, Alex and Monique sent me that they have a date. I roll my eyes. Typical, I saw Ryan, Jess and Jess ex sent me friend request. Really?
