what if puppy!calum was whimpering in the alley because he managed to escape his owner on christmas eve and now he cried, his whimpers echoing in the 1 am night time air and he hears a soft voice and his ears flick up 'hello?' and calum whimpers, cowering away into the corner and he hears footsteps, looking to see a blonde boy in the street light looking around with furrowed eyebrows so he keeps quiet, but then the boy sees him and slows his movements 'i knew it.' he said and crouched in front of him 'hey..' he whispered, smiling gently and calum looked at him and it was quiet for a while 'why're you out here bud?' and calum just whimpers 'i-i can't g-go back..' and luke frowns and they softly talk for awhile, because luke was on his way home from midnight christmas church and he smiles when he gets an idea 'i have a good present for you buddy..' and the next thing they both know is that calum is laying on luke, a blanket over them as luke rubs his back and he's sure this is the best christmas ever.
