"Be careful," Dottie said, as she helped Butterfly get back into bed.
Butterfly tried shooing her away, but Dottie continued to help her. "Mama, I'm fine. It was just a little fender bender."
Butterfly didn't want to be in bed all day, even though she was tired. Dottie insisted that she get some rest. She wanted to get out and get some fresh air. Maybe even go for a walk in the park. That's not happening soon.
"You could've died." Dottie's eyes filled up with tears, and Butterfly immediately felt bad for upsetting her.
"I'm fine, see." Butterfly moved her limbs so that Dottie could see she was still in working order. "I'll be fine."
Dottie sucked her teeth. "You have a concussion and a cut on your forehead."
"I'm still living and breathing."
Dottie shook her head. "Just take it easy," she said while standing up to leave.
Dottie gently closed the door, leaving Butterfly alone to sleep. She needed to handle business with Charles. She was sick and tired of his antics. Something needed to be done. Today was the day, he finally realized how over him she was.

Butterfly was bored, so she decided to call Cynthia to keep her company. When Cynthia picked up, she told her to come over and ease her growing insanity. Cynthia told her to hang tight and that she would be there in thirty minutes.
Thirty minutes later, Butterfly heard a knock against the door. She rose up in bed and told whoever was at the door to come in. Cynthia came in first and then she saw Lisa's head peek around the door.
"Look who I brought," Cynthia said.
Butterfly continued to stare at Lisa, as she walked cautiously into the room. Over these past months, she had to admit she missed Lisa. In the beginning, whenever Lisa would call, she wouldn't take her calls. Now that she was face to face with Lisa, she realized that she had already forgiven her.
"Hey, B," Lisa stated. "You're not still mad at me, are you?"
Butterfly crossed her arms over her chest. "What took you so long?"
Butterfly cracked a small smile at Lisa. Lisa walked over to the bed and sat down by Butterfly. Lisa opened her arms and gave Butterfly a hug. Lisa was happy that her best friend wasn't still upset. She would still have to make up, for not telling her about Lance's shady ass.
Butterfly wiped away a tear that fell against her cheek. She backed out of the hug so she could get a good look at her friend. Lisa had cut her long her and it was now in a bob. Butterfly liked the new look on her.
"Listen, I'm so sorry about not telling you about Lance."
Butterfly waved her hand at Lisa's statement. "It's water under the bridge. I'm over Lance."
"Are you sure?" Lisa asked. She wanted to be sure that Butterfly was really over Lance and what had happened.
Butterfly nodded. "I'm sure. I've met someone else."
Out the corner of her eye, Butterfly could see Cynthia frown at what she had said. She wasn't sure what that was about, but she was definitely going to find out.
"I saw that frown," Butterfly said. After the accident, whenever she mentioned Isaiah's name, Cynthia would give her a sour look.
"What frown?" Cynthia continued to act innocent. She didn't want to let Butterfly know, how she really felt about her and Isaiah's relationship. She didn't want to start a fight.
