Butterfly continued to stare at her father with wide eyes. He held the gun at Dottie's temple. It was like everything was moving in slow motion to her. When Charles pulled out the gun, everybody in the church house dropped to the floor, except for Butterfly.

"Sir, put the gun down," the male police officer said.

Charles had a smirk plastered on his face, which Butterfly hated so much. All she was worried about was her mother. At one time, she felt like she could forgive his wrongdoings, but now that was out the window. He's too evil for me to forgive him.

Butterfly could see Dottie shaking, with tears pooling in her eyes. Butterfly didn't know what to do. There her mother was on the brink of death and she couldn't even help her. Charles was staring directly at her as he pressed the gun harder to Dottie's temple.

"P...Please put the gun down," Butterfly tried to gain control of her emotions, as she inhaled deeply.

"All you had to do was listen to me, but you disobeyed me." Charles laughed maniacally. "You even had to get your mother involved."

Butterfly nodded. "That's right. Mama had nothing to do with this. I'll do anything you say. Please, just let her go."

  "Marry Lance."

"If I marry him, will you let all these people go?" Butterfly gestured around the room with her arms.

Charles looked beyond her to see the men, women, and children stuck to the floor like they were glued there. He didn't care if they stayed or left. His main goal was to get Butterfly to marry Lance.

  "They can go."

The S.W.A.T. team started directing everyone out of the church, while the rest of the team kept a close eye on Charles. They urged him to drop his gun, but he refused until he saw Butterfly married with his own two eyes.

"Take your place at the altar," Charles stated.

Butterfly slowly walked over to the altar. She shuttered from the touch of Lance's hand around her wrist, as he helped her up the two steps. He smiled at her even though she was frowning up at him the whole time.

"Reverend, start doing the vows," Charles said, in a firm tone.

"This is the house of the Lord-" Reverend Johnson stopped in mid-sentence when Charles pointed his gun directly at him.

Dottie immediately elbowed him as hard as she could in his stomach. He let go of her and doubled over, with a pained expression displayed on his face. Dottie ran up to the altar where Butterfly was standing. Butterfly hugged Dottie close and rubbed her back in circles, to stop the tremors running through Dottie's body. The officers took advantage of the situation and surrounded Charles in a circle.

Butterfly turned her attention to the entrance of the church when she heard the door creak open. She noticed a man standing with Isaiah continuously telling Charles to drop the gun. There was another guy beside Charles. He was tall and had cornrows in an intricate design.

Butterfly was relieved to see Isaiah. She wanted to run to him and tell him how much she missed not being able to see him. Isaiah was staring at her and nobody else. She could feel his gaze boring a hole into her.

Isaiah couldn't take his eyes off Butterfly. She looked so scared of him, as she continued to stare at him with wide eyes. Damn, Charles. Isaiah glanced at Charles, as he struggled to get away from the officers. Charles had a smirk on his face and Isaiah wanted to punch him until it was gone.
