XENIA'S POV
After a night with Joshua out in the woods I returned home while he stood at the forest edge watching over me. What just happened to me? My entire life has changed, he is my mate for eternity, I'm a werewolf, which is something vastly unanticipated, and suddenly I'm deeply, madly, truly in love with a guy that is all mine now.
I have to tell Leena.
"Xenia, where have you been? We've been so worried about you. Are you alright?" Too many questions from my mom as I open the rear door that leads into the kitchen where she has been sitting with a coffee in her hands.
"I'm fine Mom, I went for a run"
"Out in the woods that we forbid you to enter. There are dangerous wolves out there and any one of them could easily kill you," she says in a deep state of concern and worry over my well-being.
"Mom, I need to talk to you and Dad" I state calmly, "where is he so that I can have you both present?" I question and lead her into the lounge by heading that way myself.
Both parents are looking at me now as we sit in the lounge as I pluck up the courage of asking them the most difficult question ever.
"Why didn't you tell me we are werewolves?" I ask now looking at them deep in their eyes trying to see the truth from inside them and tug it out into the open.
Dad is the first to speak, " because Xenia, you were born to be a wolf, but Leena was different, she couldn't be a wolf because of her spine, that was severed at a young age and magic used by pixies to correct it, she then did what we least expected and re-broke and severed her spine in the fall at school" he finishes a sad grim look on his face appears
"If one cannot form into a wolf as a baby and be a pup, they are to be killed, and we couldn't lose her," Mom finishes as a small tear rolls down her face, as what appears to be memories flooding back of their past.
"Why were you not honest with us then and let us in on the 'big secret'" I state now in an irritated mood.
"We hoped you wouldn't become a wolf, which clearly you have become if you are asking us about it," dad states with sorrow in his voice.
"Well I'm a wolf and I'm deeply proud of my fur," I say standing up, "by the way I'm mated to a guardian wolf" I say walking out the room, " I love him, and he most certainly loves me."
I leave before they can respond to the statements, and head to Leena's room, but I catch her in the hallway by the stairs, having heard everything we discussed.
"I'm sorry sis," I comment hugging her, " but everything will change now, and you will be a wolf with me," I finally say with deep hope that Alexia can do something about her spinal issue so that Leena can be a wolf with me.
"No sis, I want to be a pixie, not a wolf" she says affectionately, hugging me, " can I sleep in your room tonight?" She questions me with a face longing to be near me for the last few nights.
"Yeah, let's have a pajama party," I respond with a grin.
Grabbing pillows and blankets from her room with her and we toss all our bedding on my floor, race down stairs and rummage the cupboards and freezer for snacks and ice cream before darting upstairs to delight in our spoils of the kitchen raid.
"Can you sleep in your wolf form sis, I wanna snuggle with your tail" Leena states with such a longing and pouting face that no one can say no too.
I form into my wolf and lick her crazily while she laughs and tries to squirm from the licking. I settle down on the blankets and she grabs my tail holding it in her gentle hands, all of a sudden with a haply sigh she sleeps. The sun beats over the room and it wakes me from my slumber and dream, to see Leena still holding onto my tail.
I gently get up and form back, sneaking downstairs to grab food, before heading out to my mate.
I see Mom still teary eyed in the lounge and hug her.
"Mom, it is okay, we'll be okay. Leena is happy to be herself, we spoke last night, so don't worry, you knew we were wolves and that time will catch up to us, it was a waiting game," I say comforting her.
I head outside, walk down and around the house to the woods. Setting the food down I form again and scoop the bag into my jaw, once again heading into the woods to my mate. Scenting him out I spot him on an overhang looking over the wolf valley of his pack.
"Hey my Love," he says turning around at my arrival, and bolts down to hug me, " Xenia, will you marry me and be my mate, be bonded to each other for the eternities of guardian wolves?"
I stand there flabbergasted at the proposal and ring he is holding, a deep purple stone in the centre of the ring with loads of fine diamonds encircling it.
"Yes," I say, once taking in all the information given to my brain at that point in time, at the time I realised I have a mate for all eternity and he has me for eternity. This is going to be a ride well worth taking. He slips the ring on my finger and kisses me passionately as we stand there, under the thick of the trees, a few days of sun fingering through the canopy of leaves over head.
Now I have a new life, a life least expected a week ago, but Joshua is very persuasive to my wolf, and they cannot resist the urge to be together, mates for eternity.
