CHAPTER 20: IF ONLY I HAD A TAIL

LEENA'S POV

So it is a new day and I'm exhausted, I tried all night with the pixies to convert me to a wolf so that I can be with my sis out in the pack and the forest, boy how she has a cute tail.

"Sis, come or we'll be late for school," Xenia calls from the end of the hall as she heads to the kitchen for a quick breakfast.
"Coming," I yawn from my room grabbing my bag, while giving a decent stretch as I head towards the kitchen.
"Morning all," I say with another yawn, grabbing a seat at the table next to Xenia.
"Rough night, huh," Xenia remarks with a deep grin spread over her face.
I pull a tongue at her just before I sink my teeth into some sugar coated cereal. Ah just like the good old days again. A smile forms on my face at the memories of the past. Mom always moaned at us but we couldn't help but have a food fight with the cereal in the morning before school. I would normally be the one to start it by tossing a small piece at Xenia, aiming for her hair or nose. Then the war begins. At least we only always tossed dry cereal. Dad would laugh and Mom would scowl at the three of us for what seemed like days.

"Hey sis, catch," a huge smirk forms on my face as she looks up to a small cereal grain lands dead on the tip of her nose.
"Oh, no you didn't," now the war begins just like before. She tosses a whole spoonful at me, I dodge it and it spreads all over Dad. Before we realise it he has us both covered in dry cereal. How he does that we still haven't figured it out.
There is the scowl from Mom, everyone drop gaze and continue eating. The three of us stare at each other from the corner of our eyes and grimace with happiness as the naughtiness always irritates Mom.

Today is going to be a great day.

We arrive at school and there stands Nedira tugging on his hair. This guy always wants to be near me and I have to admit he is super cute, but I want to have him love sick and begging before he gets his way of dating me. Nedira looks up at me and shoves him away as she embraces me in a big hug.
We walk right past him and I look back giving a hint of interest showing a small grin and turn my head flicking my hair at him.
"You should seriously date him, he is smitten with you and we both know you adore him," Nedira comments noticing my gesture at him.
"Not yet, it is still too soon. He has yet to even greet me or introduce himself to me," I reply and Nedira knows it's true.
"Yet you already know him and who he is," she replies with a look of just date the poor soul before his poor heart breaks of love loss.
"You know that's not me. We both know that he has to introduce himself to me before I even give a hint of interest more than what I already give him," I end the conversation of dating him before it begins.

I enter history class only to now see he is standing by my desk with a grin, waiting to talk to me.
Okay, pull yourself together Leena. He is just another boy, I say in my head.
Flicking my hair out of my face I walk up to him
"Hi there, you Leena right?" he asks calmly and well collected.
"Yes, I am. Why do you ask?" I respond in a tone that has a hint of sarcasm as though I'm not interested.
"I am Calvin. Pleased to meet you Leena", he responds, his name sending tingles all over my body. Now I am really interested in him.
"So Calvin I see you come with Nedira and a few of the others from the woods area, are you like them too?" I ask quickly and shortly not wanting to play games as I want tail of my own.
"Yes, I am" he responds quietly so that others don't hear him, not that they vaguely interested in us.
Well Leena, now's your chance for a tail.
"So tell me Calvin, do you know Alexia and Joshua?"
His face widens with shock at the mention of their names so calmly and easily mentioned by me.
"Y-yes I do" he responds with angst and worry. Now I have him, I think to myself before continuing shortly after his fearful response.
"She's my sister," I state proudly and he wants to all of a sudden bow to me before tripping over a table and landing flat on his bum. Wow, what a clumsy one. I help him up while laughing my head off till tears form in my eyes. He laughs too at the funny coincidence, before bolting from my presence.

Well there goes my tail. A sigh escapes my lips as I smile at his cute rear end where the tail is meant to be.
