XENIA'S POV
We bolt into the forest and I have absolutely no clue where he is taking me but I am safe in his presence.
What are you so worried about? My wolf complains as I think to myself some more, he won't let you get hurt and he most certainly won't let anyone take you. Shh, I respond to my thoughts and follow him eagerly as we border the boundaries and I can smell the other pack on the borderline.
"Joshua, I can smell the other pack!" I shout as I come to a halt and see them approach the border staring and glaring at me with a hunger and desire for fighting like I have never seen before.
He turns around and before the other wolves can even approach me, before Joshua can even come near me, a white wolf like me but in a ghost form appears and walks on, what seems to be, a carpet of thin air.
The fight desirous wolf backs off slowly and then without another word the wolves vanish back into their territory, fear stricken as though they have seen a ghost.
The white wolf turns and faces me, now I am scared, and I realise she is a ghost wolf. "Do not fear Xenia wolf" she says in a calm angelic tone, "I am Alexia, a guardian wolf."
"But you are a ghost!" I exclaim slowly stepping back awkwardly,
Wolves don't walk backwards Xenia, my wolf says to me.
Well they do now, I reply sarcastically and fearful despite the plea from the ghost wolf.Joshua rushes to my side and stands alongside me, phew safety, I sigh in relief. My wolf just rolls her eyes to my foolishness.
" I am Alexia, the head guardian of the guardian wolves, what you would call an ancient," she says in complete calm as she drops to the forest floor.
"Joshua, it was wrong of you to bring her this side, especially knowing she is a new born," Alexia turns her attention to Joshua.I daze out of the conversation and admire her beauty. White like me but more majestic and she could fly. It makes logical sense considering she is a ghost. "No it's not because I am a ghost that I fly," she says to me, "I can train you to fly as well."
I look at her even more gobsmacked and confused."Now hurry and get out of this area before they return," Alexia says. I don't even ask twice or why but bolt away with Joshua on my heels.
We stop in a clearing with the sun shining brightly over us, where the trees stopped for a brief moment allowing warmth into the forest.
"She is a ghost?" I turn on Joshua asking in a fearful angry manner, attempting very hard to control myself. I change back into a human and scream my lungs out in anger, fear, and passion, only to feel warm arms around me as he grips me in a tight hug taking my emotions away and replacing the rage driven emotions with, love and compassion."They are our guardians and you are the only other person in the whole pack that can see them for what they really are," he says.
That was my first encounter with the guardian wolves and the other pack. I was terrified beyond all doubt and belief, but I am safe in his arms. Safe in the arms and presence of my mate and companion.
