It was the day of getting our exam results, which meant seeing if I failed Science again. Originally I was going to open mine round Maddie's with everyone, but I dropped out at the last minute wanting to be with Luke rather than them. It sounds bad but I had been hanging round with Luke a lot more than my other friends and when I did spend time with them all they would do is say things like, "Oh not bumming Luke today" so I figured there was no point trying anymore.
Luke and I went to the abandoned news agents. "You first!" I said as I stood opposite Luke, gripping onto my envelope. Luke waved his arms in the air revealing that he didn't have his results. "I opened mine at home. I got the usual but anyway, I want to know what you got." "No way that's not fair!" I protested. "I"ll open mine at home too!" I began to walk to the edge to climb down, but that's when Luke started chasing me round the entire roof. He caught me within minutes and swung me round as my laugh echoed in the empty parking lot. "You do it!" I pleaded as I passsed the envelope to Luke once he put me down. "You sure?" I nodded. He opened it and slowly pulled out the piece of paper, his eyes scanning in. His face was blank as he looked up at me. "Shit...." I muttered. "You fucking passed! You got a fucking B!" Luke shouted. I grabbed the results and looked for myself. Everything was A's and B's, but Science had never been above a U before. "Oh my god!" I leaped into Luke's arms, his hands holding onto my lower waist as we cheered. Then the cheering died down, my face leaning into Luke's. He suddenly dropped my feet back down, "Well that shows what an amazing teacher I am!" I tucked my hair behind my ears, why did I suddenly want to kiss him? "Yeah... we should celebrate, go out or something!" "Good idea, I'll call you later!" He helped me down from the roof. I started walking in the opposite direction from Luke to go home but I stopped and turned around. "Luke..." He turned round look concerned. "Thank you." He smiled and blew a kiss before we headed in our different directions. I waited impatiently all afternoon for Luke to call. I would argue with myself trying to decide whether to call him myself or if that would look needy. I decided that if he said he'd call, he would.
It had been two days and not a word from Luke. I had sent a couple of messages but didn't want to send anymore and come across as annoying. I couldn't go to his house as I didn't know where that was. So I looked at the Metro and the roof top but he never showed. It was Monday and Science first lesson. I decided to move to the back with Luke and of course I got weird looks from everyone and evil glares from Maddie and Ashleigh. I sat up, eagerly watching as people walked in. I spent the whole lesson sat at the back on my own, as once again Luke didn't show up. How did he enjoy this and where the hell was he?
