Katherine's POV:
I was trying my best to make myself at home, in this world of vampires. Everyday, I woke up, did my chores, then walked down to the servant quarters.

Shocked? Well yes, I had made a friend or two down there. Leto, a cute girl aroundxmy age, with white blondes that draped down her back, was my first friend from the servant quarters.

"Hey Let.." I chirped up from behind her. She turned around and bowed low.

"Morning Miss. Morgan" she smiled at me, and turned back towards the kitchen counter.

She was pouring a red liquid from a bowl into bottles. The liquid was undoubtedly blood.

"Why are you filling it up in bottles...you can just pour it into glasses.."

"Umm...its not for daily drinks...we are preparing this for tomorrow...and it isn't just blood. We mix it with a little amount of intoxicating herbs, which we will serve after the ceremony tomorrow. It is like, alcohol for vampires." She chuckled.

"What ceremony?"

"Well, its the blood bond ceremony. A day for mates. The ones who have found thier mates, drink each others blood. The ones who haven't, just attend the ceremony as audiences. These drinks are served after the ceremony, so that all can enjoy."

"Ohh...to enjoy?" I gave her a quizzical look. The idea of being surrounded by drunk vampires made me sick.

Leto washed the blood from her hands and headed out of the kitchen. I sprinted behind her.

"Where to, now?" I asked her.

"Well, off to the gardens, they need watering, and a bitcof care too. We don't want our guests to think that we are planning to grow a forest right under our window sills." We both giggled at her stupid joke.

We walked out of a small door. It was far away from the giant one that I had entered through.

She picked up a sprinkler and a pair of scissors. She watered the plants, simultaneously chopping off the branches and leaves that were growing out wildly.

"You seem to like these plants a lot...is it?" Someone from high above our heads shouted down at us.

"P...prince Fabio..." Leto bowed her head, in respect.

"I guess you should answer him let... He asked you, not me."

Leto stared at me, then at the plants, and back up at the window, located two floors above us. Fabio jumped down, and landed gracefully.

"Whoa...easy there, you might land bad, and hurt yourself, you could just use the stairs."

"I'm fine...so, Miss...umm...I don't know your name, seen you a lot around here, in this garden. Love this a lot?"

Fabio smirked at leto, while she just stared at her feet and blushed.

"Yes, sire...I love these plants, all the greenery, and fresh air, everything. Have a good day sire."

With that she gripped my hand and whizzed past him, back into the castle.

"Hey...what was that?" I perked up.

"What was what?" She stared in another direction, and tried badly not to blush.

"Well, OK...don't tell me, I can ask fabio." I grinned.

"No, please...its nothing. Really. I...I...just like him, sort of." She blushed again, a deeper shade of red this time.

"Ooohhh...." I drawled. "Someone has a crush." I grinned at her, sheepishly.

She simply ran away, face palming herself, into one of the passages, of the palace.

I walked towards the direction she had gone. The passage was dimly lit. Two or three doors leading to different rooms in the corridor.

I walked into it, trying to formulate if it was right to open a door and peep in. I supported yes.

I opened the first door, "let? Are you there?" No reply. I turned around and walked out, closing the door behind me.

A spooky feeling of being watched, was seeping into me. I went to the next door.

"Leto? Where are you? If you are here, please answer."

No answer. I turned around to walk away, when I heard someone, or maybe something, shuffling across the floor.

I turned around. My eyes darting across the floor of the alomst dark room. I gasped, at the site in front of me. Some sort of a creature was crawling across the floor towards me, its breathing growing hard by every passing second.

I tried to run but it gripped my ankle. I tumbled down, I opened my mouth to scream, but my scream was muffled by its large slimy and wet hand.

"Kathy..." The creature breathed and fell on the floor beside me.

I sat up and stared at a miserable looking Kasper.

"Kasper!...what happened? Shall I get someone? Kasper?"

I started panicking a bit. I lifted him up, supporting his shoulder, and laid him down on the bed.

I noticed a pair of lam on the bedside table. I lit them up, and as I inspected kasper, I noticed the deep cut on his chest, his white shirt painted deep red around the wound.

His hands were covered in blood, from holding the the wound.

"Kathy...I...I did something bad. Something terribly bad." He sobbed, almost hysterically.

"Kasper...what did you do?" I asked him sympathetically, pressing his head into my chest, to comfort him.

"Something bad...you would hate me if you knew..." then he drifted into a deep slumber.

I chose to leave him sleeping and get my mind, a bit of its own time. I walked out of the dark corridor, towards my room, into it, and closed the door.
