CHAPTER 10
It’s 10 minutes before the date and I am freaking out. I'm not sure what I'm freaking out about though, it isn't because I had no idea what to wear, no I had that all sorted. I put on this cute little black dress that had lace rimming the bottom of it that just peeked up above my knees, showing my legs. I had curled my blonde hair into big, natural waves and pinned it to the side, I finished off my look with some light make up. It wasn't anything big, but I looked okay. I think it's because I've never really been with Jason alone more than 20 minutes and I think it was making me super nervous. What were we going to talk about? What were we going to do? What just in general?! Okay I think I need to take a breather, one big breath in and out. Okay I'm feeling a bit better. Before I could do anything else, my phone started to vibrate. I looked at the screen and saw Jason's name pop up.
** my car is two houses down from yours… meet me there =)**
I quickly hopped down the stairs towards the door. As I was just about to open it, my wrist was caught by a much bigger hand. "And where are you off to, all dolled up?" "Hey John, well if you must know a few friends and I are going out for dinner, it's like a welcome to our group thing" I answered with my most convincing smile. "Mhmmm, do you need a lift?" He asked. "No, Megan is coming to pick me up any minute. Thanks though! I'll see you guys later tonight, say bye to Lucas for me and don't burn the house down!" I quickly ran outside into the cool spring air. Walking down the street a few meters and I could see a sleek black car parked up the road. I've never seen it around here before and I could only guess that it was Jason's. I opened the door and saw Jason in the driver’s seat. He was wearing a fitted grey dress shirt and black pants. He looked amazing! Well, more amazing than usual. I lowered myself into his car and put on my seat belt. "Wow, just wow! You look amazing, Sarah!" He said with a huge grin and eyes wide. He looked over me in the passenger seat, taking in the bare skin that he could see. "You don't look so bad yourself," I said whilst raising my eyebrow. "So are you going to tell me where you’re taking me?" I asked, after he finished looking me over. "Na-uh it's a surprise, you’re just going to have to wait and see," he said with a big cheesy smile, as he pulled out onto the road.
20 minutes into the drive and I think I can safely say that I prefer Jason's driving to John’s. I don't feel like I'm going to ruin the interior of his car with the contents of my stomach. I hadn't really paid much attention to where we were going, but I was truly lost now. I had no idea where we were and all I could see was deep forest all around us. "Okay, I'm starting to think you’re taking me out here to kill me, where are we?" I asked, with slight anxiety growing with the further I go into the unfamiliar surroundings.
"Haha! Nah, if I wanted to kill you I'd take you to the pier. Just so I could say ‘you'd be sleeping with the fishes’, Haha!" He joked. "Wow okay, mental note to self; stay away from piers," I said, feeling more reassured with his humour. Jason just smiles and keeps his focus on the road. But not for much longer, we come to stop and I can just make out what looks to be an old run down house. It was like something from the Blair Witch Project. It had bordered up windows, rusty old fencing and sickly weeds growing over the used to be white painted wood foundations. "Come on," Jason said as he got out of the car. I made my way out of the car and stood tall, taking in my surroundings. Jason holds out his hand for me so we can walk together towards the derelict house. "Where are we?" I asked, still very confused. "Somewhere that no one will bother us," He answered, in a seductively playful tone. I glanced over to him; his eyes were burrowing deeply into mine. It wasn’t long till I pulled away; blushing and faltering under the nervous heat. We walked right up to the front door of the run down old house, but before we went inside Jason put his hands over my eyes so I couldn't see. "No peeking," Jason said excitedly. He began walking and I quickly started walking as well. We walked a bit and turned a corner, until we stopped. Slowly Jason's hands lifted off from over my eyes, I couldn't describe the scene that was laid before me. Yes it was a rundown old house on the outside, but in this room is was a sanctuary. It was filled with candles, rose petals and fairy lights on the ceiling. What was even more impressive was what was on the floor. There was a picnic rug on the ground with a basket, two glasses and bottle of champagne and I single red rose in the middle. "Oh my gosh, Jason! This… this is all so amazing! Did you do all of this?" I managed to ask, I was speechless. "Yeah, a simple dinner for two, the hardest thing was to get into my Dad’s liquor cabinet without him noticing, I mean he won't notice one bottle missing but I'm sure he would have been suspicious if he saw me poking around it," He said with a giggle. I turned around and stared into his amazing green eyes, this time with confidence. He did all this for me. "Jason this is great, I couldn't have even imagined anything like this!" "I'm glad you like it," he said, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a hug. I know I saw Jason at school today but being in his arms right now, I didn't realize how much I missed him. Being in his arms right now felt right, he was my other half. I looked up at him and I pushed my lips onto his, he didn't hold back. With one hand secured around my waist, he lifted his other to cup my face, pulling me deeper into him. He was gentle, but I could feel a sense of urgency behind his lips. He kissed me slowly, becoming accustomed to my lips. After a succession of pecks, he lightly made an opening and smoothly pushed his tongue through to meet mine. He kissed me with such passion, and I had forgotten to breathe through my nose. I slowly pulled away to come up for air. "Jason we should probably eat," I said, flustered. "Ah yeah, food, stuff that we eat…” he said in a daze, I have to admit I like the effect I have on him, he's adorable like this.
"So how do you know about this place? How do you know no one will come here?" I asked as we both made ourselves comfortable on the picnic rug. I popped a strawberry in my mouth, to stop myself from asking too many questions too quick. "Ah, well the locals think this place has a bad omen and this house has some not so good history with werewolves and vampires." I spat the strawberry out accidentally from shock. "VAMPIRES EXIST?!" "Oh, I thought I told you that?" Jason said whilst scratching the back of his head. "Ah nope, I think I would of remembered that," "Haha, well uh… yeah they do," He said. "So wait, what's the history?" "Ah, When my grandfather was Alpha there were all these fights going on between the vampires that used to live in this territory and my grandfather’s pack. You see werewolves are always looking for ways to make their territory bigger. They won't try to start a fight with another pack of werewolves unless it’s absolutely necessary but they don't mind fighting with vampires. They just needed a reason other than territory to start the war, see vampires and werewolves have a sort of treaty we stay to our land and they stay to theirs and we should be able to live happily. My grandfather needed to make it look like they had broken the treaty. After several months of trying to come up with new ideas my grandfather was becoming extremely frustrated and decided to go on perimeter run, which isn't usually the Alpha’s job but he wanted to clear his mind. He came across this house and smelt the familiar scent of his little sister Abigail. When he looked into the window he saw a vampire feeding off her. In a matter of seconds my grandfather burst through the window and ripped the vampire off of his little sister. But when he looked at his sister, her throat had been slashed by the vampire’s teeth when he had thrown him off of her, the vampire was distraught. The vampire told my grandfather that he loved Abigail and that they had to hide their love because they would never be accepted. The reason he was feeding off of her was because he had been badly injured by another vampire and her blood healed him quickly. My grandfather didn't believe his story and killed the vampire. The Vampires and the Werewolves went to war and we came out on top and ever since no one has come to this house." He said. "Wow, that's a lot to take in. I feel sorry for your grandfather for losing his sister, but do you think the vampire was telling the truth?" "I'm not sure, the vampires never knew he was seeing a werewolf so he didn't even have any witnesses and no one out of our pack new about Abigail dating that vampire, so it's not looking so good for that vampire," he laughed to himself. If that vampire was telling the truth, I feel so sorry for him, he never got to be with his love. That got me thinking, I don't know I love Jason but... Could I live the rest of my life without him?
