CHAPTER 13

*Jason's POV*

I pulled up to my driveway, turned the car off and just sat there for a few minutes. Okay, so my date didn't go according to plan tonight, but I can honestly say that was one of the best nights of my life. Being with Sarah was one of the best feelings in the world, I couldn't wait till I got to tell everyone that she was my mate. That is if she accepts me. I all of a sudden felt miserable with Sarah being human. There was always that chance she could reject me, if she was a werewolf she would feel the same amount of a pull towards me as I felt towards her, but because that's a werewolf thing she only feels maybe a quarter of it. My wolf started to become depressed. I could hear his thoughts. It's was all about Sarah, how he would die if she was to reject us, which is partly true.

Werewolves only have one soul mate. When we find that special someone it makes us whole and when they are taken away from us it’s almost like we have been ripped apart. Our souls become intertwined when we first kiss. You can't eat, drink or sleep without thinking about them, once you mate it becomes hard to even be away from one another. So when they are taken away from us or you are rejected, the other werewolf starts to deteriorate. It's rare that werewolves reject each other, but when a human is involved there's always that chance.  "Don't worry, we will never let that happen, we will keep trying if she was to ever reject us!" I said to my inner Wolf. He became a bit happier when I said this, he knew how stubborn we could be and we would never give up on Sarah. I climbed out of my car and tip toed all the way up to my room, trying not to wake anyone asleep in the house. I quickly got out my clothes and put on some sweatpants and a tee and hopped into bed. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep with my thoughts full of Sarah.

  -------------------------

6:45am  My alarm went off and I rushed to get ready for practice. I forgot today was soccer practice day and didn't set my alarm earlier. I grabbed an apple from the counter and ran out to my car.  Soccer practice seemed to drag on today. All I wanted to do was see Sarah. I think people started to notice my head wasn't in the game when for the third time the ball had been kicked right into my face.  Finally the coach blew her whistle signalling that practice was finally over. I ran over to the lockers to get cleaned up straight away.  "Hey Jason, what was all that on the field? What happened to the cocky douche that usually is kicking the ball into other people's faces, ay?" John joked. "Ah, tired I guess," I said, not really caring about my answer. I just wanted to see Sarah.  I finally got into my casual clothes and was about to leave the locker room when I felt my

heart beat started to pick up. I suddenly felt incredibly uneasy. It took over me. It was fear. What the hell was happening to me? This has never happened befo-- but before I could finish my thought, Sarah's name came to mind. Was this what she was feeling? Was she in trouble? I turned back around to search for one of twins. "Luke! Where's your step sister today? Is she coming to school?" I asked, a little too impatiently and abrupt. "Ah, she should be here at school, why?" He asked. "Ah just curious...” Luke gave me a curious look and raised his eye brow. I ran out of the locker rooms before he could ask any more questions. I arrived at my locker to search for my phone in my bag, when I finally found it I quickly dialled Sarah's number and pressed call. It rang and it rang and it rang, seemingly forever.  "Hey you've reached Sarah sorry I've missed yo--" I ended the call before the voicemail could finish. Something wasn't right.  I ran all the way up to Sarah's house, hoping to pick up her scent on the way.

There was nothing. She should have walked this way. “Why the hell can't I smell her?!” I thought. Right before I reached Sarah's house I could smell the foulest scent. It grew stronger with every step I took. The smell invaded my nose, it smelt of rotten flesh. I began to gag slightly as I made my way up the driveway of her house.

It could only mean one thing. VAMPIRE!  I ran up to her door and found myself standing in a bunch of rosé petals scattered across her porch.  “What the?” I thought to myself. I banged on the door ferociously. I need to know where she is, if she’s ok, I need her…I started to shake from the inner Wolf. “Breathe,” I said to myself. I had to stay in control, no use going crazy wolf during the day, in the middle of a public street. I had to stay calm, for Sarah.

I jogged around to the side of the house, where the wall met the yard fence. I sprinted towards it, scaling it with ease into the backyard. I tried the windows and finally the back door which had fortunately been left open for me to get inside. "SARAH?! Sarah baby, where are you?" I called desperately as I made my way through the house. I kept calling for her, but there was no answer. She had been taken; my Sarah has been taken by those disgusting creatures! I ran back outside hoping to pick up her scent to see which way the bastards took her but I couldn't smell it. All that lingered in the air was the revolting stench of Vampires. I couldn't even track down their dirty scent; they had covered it somehow and I could only pick up the stench 20 meters past Sarah's house.

My body shook with rage and I couldn't help but release my wolf, he howled at his missing mate.
