You were gone and things started to change. The sun wasn't as bright and my eyes were red. I couldn't look at the ground the same, because that's where my feet were. They weren't mine anymore, they were too far away. I was in the clouds somewhere, sad and alone, but when I looked down my feet were always there. The ground was still cold the way that you left it. The sky wasn't pretty anymore and the buildings were all out of place. War felt right and time felt slow. There were changes. It wasn't meant to be, you said, and I guess the sky wasn't meant to be blue, either, and the sun wasn't allowed to shine. The darkness became my home and my heart didn't mind. It wasn't beating right, and it, too, wanted to hide. Clouds surrounded me and my vision became blurry. It was from the tears, but you liked to tell me they'd clear up soon. "You'll be okay, it'll be okay." You lied. You tried. You left. It was not okay and things changed. My wrists stole the color away from my heart and it turned grey. My teeth grew cold inside my mouth and my legs were tired from not moving. Things were changing and time wasn't going to stop to let me catch up. I lost my breath somewhere in the change and my lungs hurt. My nose felt worthless like my pale skin. Things changed.
