Ed's POV
"No! You can't say that! I've worked so hard! For months! I can't drop out now!" Al exclaimed.
We met up with Mustang this morning to discuss further into exams. Al is being forced to drop out of examinations, and to be honest, I actually agree with him.
"If you want to go on without revealing your past, you have no choice" Mustang stated. Al try's to fight back.
"That's not good enough! I'm not getting separated from my brother!"
"Easy, Al..." I stepped in "You remember what Aunt Pinako said, right? State Alchemists are military, and get thrown into service whenever war breaks out. You have to do what they say, even hurt people, for some good you don't understand. It means your a dog of the state, with a leash around your neck"
"But...Brother...."
(Y/N)'s POV
*TIME SKIP*
Today was the interview portion of the exam. I'm in such great relief that I don't need to take a physical. I would've been a goner and getting a lot of questions, leading to a possible chance in prison.
(Flashback)
"I got a call from the Colonel earlier this morning. Appearently it was planned for you take a physical, and this is because someone pointed out your left hand looked skeleton thin through the gloves."
(Y/N) glanced down at her left hand, which was currently exposed.
"However, Roy was able to convince them to pull you out and continue with regular exams."
(Y/N) looks up with a look of relief on her face.
"Thank goodness, I was about to have a panic attack." (Y/N) said, running her right hand through her hair.
"Now let me guess...I owe him don't I?"
" Big Time is what he said."
(Y/N) drops her head onto the table and sighs."I'm not surprised..."
(End of Flashback)
I sit myself on the swirly chair, putting my left leg over my right, and giving the Fuhrer of Amestris a stern look. I'm damn nervous right now and my hands are shaking, but I have to cover it up. I need to be strong...for him....
"Tell me, young lady. Why do you want to become an alchemist for the state?"
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"To protect the ones I care about. I made a promise, and intend to keep it. I'm got to break that promise now by backing out. I need to be strong for them!" I said.
"Interesting...." The Fuhrer said.
*TIME SKIP*
It was late at night. I was wide awake thinking about the final part for exams. I was nervous. I had nothing planned. But I couldn't give up. I have to keep going....for Blair's sake.....for Jane's sake....for my brother's sake.
