Chapter 30: The Other Elric....Siblings?

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

After hours of sitting on a train, we finally made it to Xenotime. The sun was slowly setting over the horizon, as Edward, Alphonse and I started to walk towards the town.
"Do you really think we're going to find the philosopher stone in a run down town like this? Looking around, it's hard to believe they even produced much gold at all." Al said.
"Which is why they are more likely to be developing a philosopher stone." Ed responded
"What do you mean?"
"Now that their mines are no longer producing gold, they've got plenty of reason to transmute it. They can only do that with a philosopher stone. With this being a former gold mining town it wouldn't look to suspicious."
"Is money all that grown ups think about?" Al said bitterly, to which I nodded. Before I could say anything, there was a cry of distress that grabbed our attention. We turned to the direction of where the commotion was a made our way to where the noise came from. A little girl was stuck between a minecart and a couple of giant rocks. There were some men trying to move the cart, but it wouldn't budge. One of them seemed to be the girl's father.
"What's wrong?" I asked. We made our way towards them, with Edward inspecting the scene before him. Edward looks at her kindly while I kneel down to her and hold her hand in comfort.
"Hold still for just a moment okay?" Edward said. He claps his hands and places them on the minecart, the little girl's hand gripping on to mine tighter as she whimpered in fear. When the lightning disappeared, I patted her head softly telling her it was okay.

*TIME SKIP*

Later that night, after the girl was safe the father let us stay at his in and cooked us a meal. He kept thanking us for freeing his daughter, to which we brushed off saying it was no big deal.
"I mean it we sure were lucky to have an alchemist like you show up when you did. I can't thank you enough." The man said
"And don't forget his metal father and pretty girlfriend!" The little girl said to which Al froze up and I became a stuttering mess. Edward was snickering next to us. Did he not hear that last part?
"No, you've got it all wrong." Edward said. "Al's not my father he's actually my younger brother."
"A-and I'm actually just a friend...Ed and I aren't a couple." I said quietly.
"Younger brother? But he's so much bigger than you are." She said, to which Edward paled up while Al laughed to himself. I just sat there with a nervous smile on my face.
"Anyway, we're all just glad that you're okay, Elisa." Al said kindly to which I nodded. Suddenly, the door bursts open. A man holding a basket of lemons stands by the door panting. He had a panicked expression on his face.
"Elisa, are you alright?" He asked. The girls face lit up at the sight of him. She had called him by 'Uncle Belsio'. She tried to run towards him, but her father restricted her from doing so. He had an angry expression on his face. He looked at him, straight into his eyes and told him to get out.
"You got some nerve showing yourself here in my house. After almost getting my poor daughter killed."
I looked at Elisa's father in shock. Did his brother really try to get his daughter killed? I was about to stand up, but Edward pulled me down by arm staring straight ahead at what was happening.
"Elisa, I don't care what he says you are not to help him with his work anymore." The father said. The little girl looked up at her father with a serious expression.
"No daddy! It wasn't Uncle Belsio's idea I was the one who begged him to let me help out!" She yelled out before coughing, holding her throat. Her father took a glass of water and gave it to her to help sooth her throat. Edward stared at the little girl as she drank down the water while her father rubbed her back.
I looked over to see Belsio leave the basket of lemons on the table and mumble out an apology before leaving. Everyone's eyes were glued to the door where he had walked out. It was dead quiet until Elisa walked towards the basket of lemons.
"Uncle Belsio told me your lemon pies were always the best, Daddy." She said. "And that it was a shame that all the lemon farms were shut down. I thought maybe if I could help him I could taste your pie." I looked at the young girl with sorrow, as the others in the room looked down in what I hope is guilt. "Don't worry!" Someone spoke up "Once the philosopher stone is finished we'll all be rich, and then we can afford to buy all the fruit we want from some other town."
I stared at the man in shock. "Philosopher stone?" Edward said.
"Yes! That's it! That must be why three of you have came here to help out Mr. Mugi with his research and then finish the philosopher stone!" The father responded. Edward and I looked at him with confusion.
"Please, with everything in your power, please make it as fast as you can!"
"We want Xenotime to, once again, be the town of gold."
"We must reclaim what is rightfully ours!"
"That's right! We're counting on you alchemists!"
Everyone was yelling at us one by one with hope gleaming their eyes. They must really want their town to go back to normal. If it wasn't an offense, I would've transmuted them some gold in a heartbeat.
"That really puts a lot of pressure on us." Edward said nervously, as the people began to crowd around us. I shuffled a bit closer to head as the stares started to get to me. "I guess we'll have to visit Mugi right now and see what we can do."
"Before you go, could you tell the name of our saviors?" The man says, as everyone gets closer to the point where I feel a bit suffocated.
"Certainly." Edward says "I'm Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist."
"And I'm his brother, Alphonse. Alphonse Elric."
"(Y/N) (L/N), the Aqua Alchemist. I'm Edward's partner."
They stared at us in disbelief "The Elric Brothers? Aqua Alchemist? State Alchemists? Heroes of the People?" Edward nodded with a smug look on his face. Suddenly we felt ourselves being picked up and thrown out the door. This was turning into that coal mining town all over again. I sat up a little a rubbed my nose from falling face first. I swore I could feel blood through my gloves. Edward looked up with an angry expression on his face.
"What was that about?!" He shouted
"Shut up!" the man responded, with his daughter looking at us in worry. "The real Elric siblings are already working to save our town with Mugi! Come back when you're ready to tell us who you really are!" The door slams shut.
"Did he just say...Elric siblings?" I asked, but got no response.
The three of us look up at where the man pointed to. A large mansion in the mountains, sticking out like a sore thumb.
"I'm guessing we're going to investigate?" I asked.
"Yep." Edward responded, getting up a taking his suitcase with him. Al and I let out a sigh as we got up and walked along with him.

*TIME SKIP*

The three of us hid behind the brick walls from the guards that were posted at the front gate. Edward was carefully looking at him while Al and I stood by and watched. I had a minor nose bleed, so thank goodness that it wasn't broken though it should've from how hard they threw us.
"Why would someone go out of their way to steal our names?" Edward asked to himself.
"Brother? Are you really going to sneak in there?" Al asked, Edward turned around and looked at him in annoyance.
"Of course we are. To confront these imposters and get them to tell us all about the philosopher stone!" I sighed as we carefully made our way over the gate. We all tiptoed passed the guards and quickly hid. Edward was keeping look out while I took a good look at the place. It was a pretty big house, it would take a miracle to find the other Elrics in this place. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Edward clap his hands. I looked over to see him placed his hands on the wall and transmute a small door that lead into a library.
The three of us crawled through and walked through the place. We searched through the hundreds and hundreds of books and they were all about the philosopher stone. We kept looking through them until I heard the sound of a door open. I turned around and saw two blonde headed boys standing at the door.

"Ed?"

"Incase you haven't realized, this place is off limits."
