"Hi Parker" Laura said from the other side of the country. We were video chatting.
"Hi Lau. How are things going over there?" I asked.
"Fine. I need your help with something."
"Sure, what do you need?"
"Well..." She said hesitating. "...Look. As you and I are the same size, and I bought my dress over there, I would much appreciate if you'd go and see how the last modifications are going. Because I can't fly this weekend with all the things I have to make sure are right in place, you know?"
"Of course Laura. No problem." I said. "I'll let you know if there's anything you need to be worried about. Until then, you have enough things to care about. And besides, I can also pick up the bridesmaids dresses."
"OH my god!" She shouted hitting her head with her palm. "I totally forgot about that! I have to bring them here sooner so that Kaitlyn and Janet can try them on bef..." She started speaking faster. Oh shit. I screwed up. I told myself shutting down the computer and giving my friends a guilty smile, who were having breakfast beside me.
"Let's go." Rachel said.
"What? No. You stay here." I replied taking my keys.
"You kidding me? I totally wanna see you in a wedding dress." She answered standing up and going towards the door."
"Ugh. Fine" I gave up.
We all got out of the house and walked half a block to this amazing but cheap bridal shop. The woman here, Karen, knew Stella, Serena and I because she saw us every day going to class.
"Hi Karen." We three said.
"Hi girls." She answered still typing something in the computer behind the desk.
"Lau can't come for the last try, so she sent me instead." I explained.
"Okay. I'll be back in a minute." She looked up going through a door with the sign 'STAFF MEMBERS ONLY'.
She came back with a beautiful, white, long sleeve, lace dress. I went to the dresser and put it on. It looked weird on me. Gave me a strange feeling in my stomach I didn't like.
"Parker! Hurry up! What's taking you so long?" Peyton said from outside.
I pulled it together and opened the door, "Look who's talking." I said as I walked out. All six of my friends' jaws fell to the floor. "C'mon girls. Don't exaggerate. I look weird. Now, close your mouths, a bug can get in." I said irritated.
"But you look so pretty! Just leave it on for a minute so we can enjoy the first time we see you in a wedding dress." Bailey said.
I groaned. "Fine." I stood there with my hands on my hips. Karen turned me around so I was facing the mirror with my friends behind me. Suddenly I saw a male figure opening the entrance door from the mirror. I then remembered texting Adam a while before.
-I landed- he had sent as I walked to this shop with my friends. This weekend it was his turn to get in a plane.
-I'm picking up Laura's dress. Meet me at the bridal shop ½ a block down my place- I replied.
-Ok. Try to keep the dress in one piece! - He joked. I rolled my eyes.
Now he entered the shop, me in a wedding dress. He looked up and down the dress I was wearing, then up to my face.
"Hi. Why? ..." He tried asking.
"Lau can't fly down here so she asked me to come and try it for her." I explained my situation turning around.
"Oh." He said.
"The mouse got your tongue or something?" I asked.
"Sorry." He cleared his throat. "I'll wait at the apartment." He said, and went out the door.
I looked back at my friends, who were with mischievous smiles on their faces.
"You're creeping me out." I admitted. "What's your problem?" I asked.
"He totally checked you out!" They all shouted at the same time.
"You're mad." I said, getting to the dresser and unzipping the dress.
We returned to the apartment only to find Adam cooking. Yeah, you hear me well. ADAM COOKING. We all knew he did such thing only when he was nervous or trying to get something of his mind.
"Ok, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing." He said abruptly.
"Dude, YOU'RE COOKING! Tell us what the hell is going on!"
"Angel's pregnant." He said with a blank expression on his face.
"What?!" I screamed.
"Hold on. Who's Angel?" Sophie asked.
"Daddy's girl smart-ass." I explained myself.
"Ohhh... WHAT?!" They all said staring at him.
"What the hell? How did that happen?" I asked.
"Well, I thought we learnt it in Biology, but you never paid any attention, so..." Adam joked.
"I'm serious Adam."
"I don't know. One day we're broken up and everything's all right, the next she's gone. And yesterday, out of nowhere, she's back, but something's different."
"You don't say!" I snapped sarcastically.
"So, she comes up to me, and tells me it's mine." He finished.
"No wonder she was mad at you!" Stella said.
"Have you told your mom?" I continued.
"Are you kidding me? I don't want to kill her, thank you very much!"
"Fine then! Keep it a secret! For all I care run away right after the child is born and wait for him/her to be 17 and come to you!" I burst out.
"Don't compare me to your father! I'm not like that and you know it!"
"Sorry." I said.
"Also..." he said rubbing his head.
"What did you do?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest.
"I said we should move in together."
"Girls. I need to talk to Adam, alone." I told them not taking my eyes off of Adam as to make sure he stayed there.
