Years later...
The day was warm, but not too warm, just perfect. The smell of the cotton candy in front of me made me smile widely. He was walking beside me staring at my hands grabbing the soft pink sugar.
"You want some?" I asked him.
"N-no, it's okay." He struggled. I frowned. His hands were slightly shaking, just enough for someone who knew him to notice; he was biting his lip, and his chest was a bit tensed.
"Why are you so nervous?"
"I'm not." I looked at him dead into his eyes." I'm just really excited for Theo's first day of pre-school."
"I can't believe he's 3 already. But today it's about celebrating that although there was a tiny set-back, you graduated at 23." I smiled at him. We had accomplished so much in this past 2 years.
I was already finishing my 1 year of working at a newspaper, and he was going to start a great job as a business manager. I loved being able to just worry about small things.
"Look, what about we go to thunder mountain and then have lunch?" He said.
"Yes!" I jump on his back and hugged him tight.
There was almost no line and the rid was as fun as I remembered when I came to Disney as a kid, with the difference that the boy next to me was no longer a boy. His smile had grown from childish to calming, and his eyes showed more experience than ever before. Throughout the ride, I would notice he was staring at me, grinning like he did when he had a surprise.
After that, we walked and bought two sandwiches in a cart and sat down to eat on a bench.
Just as I was starting my tuna sandwich, I notice that there was a Belle talking to few kids, (very few, for a Disney princess). Of course, like a little kid, I stuff my sandwich inside my bag and go running towards her, because I had to tell her she was one of my favourite princesses, right?
"Hey, there. You like books like I do?" She said delicately as I was freaking out like the big Disney geek I am.
"Yeah."
"Ye, she actually does a lot. And, wanted to be a princess since forever." Adam grinned when he caught up with me and was right next to the girl, who smiled.
"Adam, what..."
"Close your eyes." 'Belle' said.
"Okay." I said awkwardly doing as they told me to. I felt something being placed on top of my head and a few people nearby whispering something to themselves.
"Open them." Adam said. I found him kneeling in front of me, a crown on my head, and people around grinning widely.
"Adam, please tell me you're joking. What the hell do you think you're doing."
He cleared his throat. "Parker, I thought this was the best place to ask you this, so I'll just go on and do it."
"Adam, you've got to be kidding me."
He continued as if I hadn't interrupted. "I really wouldn't know what to say if someone asked me to define love, but if love is doing everything you can to make the other happy, if it is having your heart glow every time the other smiles, if love is wanting to tell the other person how much they mean to you every time you can, the I love you."
You are the funniest person I know, my best friend, and favourite person in the whole world. You make me feel like a freaking prince and I want to treat you like Adam treats Belle, and Eugene treats Rapunzel, I want to make you feel like a princess every single day of our lives." By this point, obviously, I was crying, laughing and making weird noises at the same time.
"So, Parker Miller, will you marry me?"
"You're mad, bonkers, off your head." I said smiling like a big dork.
"All the best people are." He said taking out a beautiful simple engagement ring.
"Yes, yes I will."
A/N: Finished, officially finished... So sad.
