Chapter 5

Melody
My first day was done! It was definitely different then I expected. I can't believe on my first day, the hottest guy I saw became my friend. All of Lucas's friends seem so nice to and I feel like I'm going to have such a great time here!

I walk into my house and I see my parents on the couch with worried faces. Normally when I start new schools this is how they look when I arrive home. I get pushed out of the way as Everly runs past me to tell them everything. She is such a positive person, it's disgusting. She is on the couch now blabbing to my parents about classes, students, and whatever else that flies out. I on the other hand head straight for the kitchen to get some food. I was so busy meeting everyone I barley had time to eat at lunch.

"So Melody, how was your day?" My mother says hesitantly.

"Actually really good!" I respond

"Seriously?!"

"Yea I made tons of new friends and they all seem very nice!"

"Wow! Well I'm really glad! Dad just got a call and his boss says we will be staying here for a while so that's great!"

"That's awesome!"

I head off to my room to go call my Bestfriend, Lillian. We have know each other since the very beginning, kindergarten. Even through all my moves she has always been there for me, even when we live cross country. She is the sweetest and she helps me with everything and in return I do the same.

"Hey Lill"

"Hey Mel! How was the first day?"

"For once it was amazing!"

"OH MY GOSH!! THATS SO AWESOME!"

"Haha you seem happy about that."

"You never in all the years we have been best friends have said that!"

"Yea I made friends fast which was really weird. People are actually friendly"

"Tell me everything! Any hot boys?"

"Oh my gosh Lill of course you ask that first"

"Haha but seriously tell me!"

"Well... Um... Yea.."

"Tell me more!!!"

"So there is this Guy Lucas,"

"Lucas! That's a hot name."

"Lill you are so weird."

"You know you love me! Now go on!"

"Ha, okay so he is tall blonde hair with beautiful blue eyes and don't even get me started on his personality!"

"Personality?!?! You talked to him?!?"

" Oh yea did I forget to mention he and I are friends!!!"

"Oh my gosh Mel that awesome! What is he like?!?"

"He is perfect! Sweet, kind, silly, smart, popular, and his friend are cool too!"

"Whoa wait a second what do you mean by popular,"

"Like every girl is falling for him popular,"

"Oh Mel haven't you learned anything. You know these situations don't work out,"

"That was one time!"

"Seriously! Do I have to remind you about how heart broken you were!"

"Lill it wasn't that bad"

"Let me replay what happened shall I, you say you are "in love" with Jess and that he's perfect. He asks you out on a date then after the date never speaks to you again cause he found another girl. You cried for weeks!"

"Well that was different! He wanted to get me in bed and I refused and he left me for some girl who would. Lucas is different!"

"Come on Mel wake up it's just going to end up the same way!"

"No it won't I promise you!"

"Okay Mel but don't lose yourself for some boy, okay?"

"Okay! I won't!"

"Alright Mel I gots to go. Call me tomorrow!"

"For sure! Bye!"

"Stay out of trouble! Bye!"

*hangs up phone*

I can't believe Lill would say that! She knows how happy this makes me! Ugh she is probably just trying to protect me. Jess was a jerk so I see where she is coming from. Anyways everything will be great tomorrow, and for the rest of the year. She will see I was right the whole time!

"Dinner!" My dad shouted from the stair rail.

"Coming!" I yell back

I walk down stairs to see my favorite food, enchiladas, sitting on the kitchen table. I walk down take my seat and smile at my family.

"Okay everyone take hands, who wants to pray us out?" Mom says

"I will!!!" Everly shouts "Dear Jesus thanks for a great day a school and please bless our meal! In you name Amen"

"Great! Everyone dig in!"

I'm so happy to be here! And I can't wait for tomorrow at school!
