Chapter 10

Lucas

"Yes!! Melody finally gets to come home from the hospital today!

"Awesome dude!" Kyle responds

"She has been there for a week and the doctors said she has fully recovered and she should have all her memory back! I can't wait to see her Monday at school! The doctors wouldn't let me visit her in the hospital because it would mess up recovery or something!"

"Sweet dude I'm excited for you!"

"Oh my gosh I'm so happy, she is so amazing!"

"What happened on your date before the crash?!" Kyle laughs

"Surprisingly enough, nothing good we were just awkward and she read her book."

"She read a book!"

"Yea like Harry Potter or something"

"Dude you are so stupid she was probably bored out of her mind!"

"Oh.... Yea....Hopefully she forgot about that in the hospital, after I convinced her we were a couple."

"You did what!!! You idiot!!!"

"What's wrong, we basically are"

"No you are not!! You started a date! You didn't even finish it cause you almost killed her!"

"I did no such thing!"

"Dude that's not cool the doctors said she had her memory back right?"

"Yea so what"

"Dude you are and idiot! She will remember that you two were just friends and be mad at you for convincing her you aren't!"

"Oh crap!"

"Exactly bro you are stupid!"

"Well isn't that gonna suck"

"Yas! It will"

*bell rings*

After school

*ring ring*

It's melody! Oh no what is she gonna say!

"Uhh hello?"

"Hey Lucas!"

"Oh hey Mel"

"So I have a question?"

"Yes"

"Why did you tell me we were a couple?"

"Umm well you see I umm well umm..."

"It's okay, all you had to do was ask me and I would have said yes" melody interrupts

"Wait what?"

"Well we can't be now cause you never asked but I guess if you did I would say yes"

"Oh so you wanna be my girlfriend?"

"You don't ask over the phone you dumbo"

"Oh right sorry!"

"It's all good but ask me in person and you might get a better response," melody sweetly responds.

"Okay well I will talk to you Monday then" I smile and say back

"Yes you will!" Melody hangs up.

Oh my gosh she is literally perfect!

Monday at school

Walking into school, so nervous and so excited at the same time. Mel is in all of my classes so I have all day to ask her. Oh gosh there she is! Why does she have to be so pretty? My stomach is doing that thing again, where it gets all tingly. I don't know why is does that, it only happens around Mel, but I've liked tons of girls and that's never happened.

"Lucas!!!" Mel shouts from across the way.

"Melody!" I shout back.

"I've missed you so much!"

"I've missed you too!"

Here comes Tiffany as I hear her say
" youuuuuuuu  twoooo arrrrrreee like totally so grossss!! You make me want to barffff alllllll over like Ewwwwwww!!"

"Well Tiffany I'm so sorry"I say back

"You are the grossest couple I have ever seen like ever!"

"Actually we aren't a couple yet" melody says so cutely back

"Whattttt!! But you guys are so mushy gushy with your oh I missed you crap!"

" well you can a miss your friend!" Melody snaps back

"Oh whatever I could care less about you two!"

"K bye now tiff" I yell back as I resume talking to melody, "I'm so excited you are here!"

"Me too!"

"Okay I really can't wait any longer! Please be my girlfriend!"

"What?!? This is such a surprise! I'm going to have to think about it," melody charmingly says.

"Come on Mel"

"You take things so seriously I would love to!!"Melody responds as she throws her arms around me and we share our first hug.

Oh my gosh I never want to let go. This is truly the best feeling I have ever had. She puts her arms up around my neck and I slowly picked her up off the ground. Her feet dangling in the air and her head resting on my shoulder. Nothing could be more perfect then this moment right now.

My arms wrapped around her waist, holding her close. I don't let go and we sit there together cherishing the moment. After what feels like years but went by like seconds I gently set her back on the ground. We gaze into one another's eyes and just smile as the bell rings for 1st hour. We turn and walk to class saying nothing but being the happiest people in the world.

As we approach class I run ahead and grab the door for my new girlfriend. She smiles and responds with thank you and all I can get out is a smile back. My heart beating like a drum, and my head spinning in circles, I'm trying to wrap my mind around what just happened. I somehow got that beautiful girl to say yes to being my girlfriend:)
