Chapter 6

Lucas
Finally Friday! This week has been so long but so good! Mel and I have like every class together and she is just so perfect, I can't even remember what life was like before I met her.
"Lucas come on we got to go to school!" Kyle Yells at me as I walk out of my house.

"Oh my gosh I'm coming calm down!"

"Just think Lucas you don't want to be late to see your lover," Kyle winks at me.

"Melody is not my lover!" I yell back

"Yet! You forgot the yet my friend,"

"You are an idiot! Like a true idiot,"

"Come on dude, you know you are going to ask her eventually," Kyle says as I strap my seat belt.

"I dunno maybe," I shyly say back

"Do you think she is pretty?"

"Well obviously have you seen her!"

"Do you like who she is as a person?"

"Totally, she is so smart and funny and dorky!"

Approaching school Kyle say," Dude seriously if I know anything about relationship I know that you two connected right away. Today all you have to do is ask her on a simple date, no commitment needed."

"I dunno Kyle what if she doesn't feel the same"

"Then that sucks for her, Just Do It!"

"Maybe," I say as we head to our first class.

Algebra 3
Oh gosh there melody is! In the front of the class as usual, that is so cute. Oh No what am I saying!? I think I really am falling for her, I have no idea how this even works. I've asked tons of girls out and I mean tons but for some reason why is it so hard to ask out Mel. Maybe I don't really like her, maybe I just think I do cause she is pretty. Oh no I need to just stop thinking. Great! Now we are making eye contact, okay so maybe it's not that bad. I mean her eyes are really pretty, they kind of sparkle when the sun hits them. Oh Wait shut up Lucas! Stop thinking about how pretty she is! Oh... Now she is waving at me to sit with her. I really want to but my place is in the back. What to do? What to do?

"Lucas!" Melody shouts "I saved you a seat"

Oh well she save me a seat that's so kind, I must take it so I'm not rude, "I'll be right over Mel." I say as I run to the back and beg my friend not to make a big deal of it.

"Hey Mel!" I say as I sit down.

"Hey! Guess what!"

"What?!?"

"I just got a letter saying I can test for a gifted class!"

"That's so awesome! You are so smart!"

"Nah I'm not that smart" she says blushing.

"You are the smartest girl I know! You will get right into that gifted class!"

"Haha thanks! But I'm not to sure, rumor has it that the test is like really hard."

"Don't worry your pretty little head a bit I know you will ace it!"

"Oh Lucas you always know how to cheer me up:)"

"I'm glad I can be of service!" I laugh back

Melody giggles them goes back to reading another one of her big fancy books. Oh man, she is so perfect! Now she is testing to be in gifted classes, who could be more perfect. All though she is so smart why would she want a guy like me? I don't know but who cares what do I have to lose, I going to ask her out!

Lunch
"Hey Mel can I talk to you for a sec?" I hesitantly say

"Oh sure I've been meaning to talk to you too!"

"Well you go first"

"Nah is can wait, what did you have to say?"

"No you can go I insist"

"Nope nope nope not until you go"

"Mel I'm trying to be a gentlemen and let the lady go first, this doesn't happen often so can you just go."

"Ugh fine" Mel say all sassy "I was wondering if.. Uhh.. I dunno.. Maybe.. You.. Would want to go out some time? Like... A date?"

"Oh..."

"It's just a suggestion! Don't worry! I was just like wondering you know...."

"Oh no that sounds great! I wanted to ask you the same thing!"

"Well great minds think alike! Hehehe!"

"Yea they do!"

Later that night
I was happy that I was going to go out with Mel but something wasn't right... Girls don't ask the guy out! That's just not how it goes! And I said yes, but i mean why wouldn't I she so hot. Still! She asked me out! That's not how it was supposed to go. Ugh I need to talk to Kyle.

*calls Kyle*

"Hello?" Kyle answers.

"We need to talk MEL asked ME out!"

"Oh gosh! I'll be right over!"

*hangs up*
