It was raining. The sun was blocked out by dark, rotten clouds, and they were open to let fat, blobs of rain fall onto the tiny people in London. Joe watched the rain fall from the living room window, a small scowl on his face.

"Looks like another shitty day," he said as he walked into the kitchen, his converse squeaking on the floor tile. "I hate the rain."
Zoe was sitting at the kitchen table, her hair pulled up into a ponytail and wearing something similar to Joe: a thick coat with a long sleeved shirt underneath, skinny jeans, and regular sneakers. The only difference was, she was more bright colored while Joe was on the dark side. She was eating oatmeal, which their father had cooked them.

"Watch your language," Graham said, sliding a bowl over to his sons spot, scooping up a spoonful of his own and swallowing it. "The rain isn't that bad, jackass."

Zoe giggled as Joe sat down, covering her mouth. "Shouldn't Caspar be making it better."

Joe stopped talking, taking a spoon and shoveling some oatmeal into his mouth. Last night, Joe spent pretty much the whole night speaking to Caspar, and he pretty much hated himself for it. He even woke up to a good morning text from him, and hated how close they got in the span of 12 hours.

Caspar: i guess you fell asleep last night lol morning

Such a simple text, Joe thought to himself, looking at his sister. Yet so intimate at the same time.

"Who's Caspar?" His father asked, raising an eyebrow at Joe.

The younger male felt his face heat up and threw a glare at his older sister, who was smirking into her meal. "Just some guy."

"Just some guy?" He asked. "The last time you told me that, you got involved with Jackson."

Joe looked down at his meal. "It's not like that."

"Sure it isn't, Joe." Zoe looked at her father, who looked back at her. It's so totally like that, she mouthed.

"I'm gonna go to school now," Joe said, taking one last large bite of his breakfast. "Bye."

Joe stood up and started to walk out, stopping to take his keys out of his bag.

"I still can't believe he passed the driving test and I didn't," Zoe said with a frown as she watched her younger brother walk off. "I should've gotten that far."

"Not my fault you have two feet for hands," Graham said, smiling as his oldest gasped in fake hurt.

"Hey duck boy," Will said when Joe walked up to him, a small smirk on his face. "How's it going."

Just frowned and crossed his arms. Joe, Will and Oli, all have the same first period so they sit outside of the classroom; waiting for their teacher to let them in. Will was always there first, since his mom always woke him up early. Then it was Joe, who arrived at a reasonable time, then Oli who arrived right before the bell.

"Will, my life is terrible, I don't need your bullying to pile on top of everything else that is terrible in my life." Joe let his bag drop on the floor and sat down, giving his best friend a small pout.

"That sucks," Will said, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose and looking down at the binder that was in his lap. "What do you think you got on the Euro quiz?"

"An F," Joe snorted. "I didn't study."

"Well you should know the material," Will said, letting his voice turn pitchy. "It's so easy, after all."

"Shut up, Henway."

Will laughed and shut his binder, letting it sit in his lap. "So did you confront Caspar Lee?"
