9. Rumor Has It

Joe woke up to an aching headache and sticky cheeks. He groaned in pain and sat up, hearing a paper crinkle underneath his ass as he did so. He blinked the crust away as best as he could and picked up the folded paper, not bothering to look at it as he grabbed the box sitting across from him and threw it in, closing it without locking it. He yawned and rubbed at his eyes and he stood up from the ground, glancing at what time it was.

7:30 am.

That's way too early to be awake, Joe thought as he placed the box on his drawer and stretched, muscles screaming in pain. Way-hay too early.

He yawned once more before going over to his bedroom door and unlocking it to step out and go to the bathroom. He leaned over the sink and turned it on, washing the dried tears off of his face and his eyes to make them feel less hot. He then brushed his teeth and hair before pulling out his phone, which had a couple of texts from Will.

Will: people are idiots mate

Will: that kid trevor at school saw you and caspar at the cinema and took a photo and posted it to snapchat

Will: i'd kill him but i'm weak and scared so i'll get hotheaded oli on it.

Joe felt his heart speed up and looked at the screenshot that Will sent him. It was a picture of Joe and Caspar at the candy shot, Caspar handing him the Sour Patches that he bought. josephine got a bf lol, the caption read. wonder if she sucked his dick for those candies.

Joe: what the hell

Will: thats what i said!

Will: do people have anything better to do?

Joe: will im going to cry i hate life

Will: what happened?

Joe: caspar asked me if i likied him and i had such poor judgement and ugh

Joe: now that photos circling around and im going to have to live inside my room and never come out

Will: im gonna come over to your house

Will: ill bring ice cream

Joe: thanks

Joe shut off his phone and slid it in his pocket, looking up at himself in the mirror and thinking of how easy it was for Jackson to get to him. He put his elbows on the sink and his hands over his face, trying to force himself to not cry and failing.
