Chapter 23: Back to Basics

Work has been better now, Amy has been able to find a balance between her personal and professional life. John and Amy have been together for almost 5 years now. It's been wonderful between them. Amy has been away from the ring for quite some time now, trying to fulfill my duties as CEO and part of the creative team. Hunter and Mr. McMahon have been so happy with her work and contribution to the creative team. She's been giving the Divas a lot more storylines and they've made progress in adding more Diva matches to every show every week. The girls are really happy with the progress and how involved they are now compare to before.

Hunter asked Amy to come by his office during the show. She knocked on the door, "Come in."

Amy went in the office,she sees all the Divas there, AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, Rosa, Naomi, Cameron, The Bella Twins, Tamina, Natalya, Aksana and Layla.

"Well ladies, you are all here because the Royal Rumble is coming in one week," he started. "We actually want to have a battle royal at the PPV for the #1 Contender Spot," he continued. "All of you ladies here will be the participants," he said. "I wish you all good, now let's keep going with the show," he said.

All the Divas started making their way out of the office.

"Amy, stay, I have something to tell you," he interrupted. "I actually want you in this battle royal and you'll end up the winner," he said.

"But I thought I wasn't going to wrestle," she said confused.

"Remember you said you wanted to make a change and an impact backstage?" he asked.

Amy nodded.

"Well, you have made an impact already, the girls have been reporting to us that they're really happy with the progress the Divas division has been making," he started. "However, the creative team picked you as the winner already for the Battle Royal, they believe you've earned it, that it's time for you to come back," he said.

"Wow, sorry Hunter, I'm just shocked," she said.

"So start training to get back in there, tonight it will be you and Kaitlyn vs. Tamina and AJ, to tease the friction between you and Kaitlyn," he said.

"Thank you Hunter," she said shaking his hand.

"This context is scheduled for one fall and it's a Divas tag team match. Introducing first, the team of Tamina & AJ Lee," announced Justin Roberts. "And their opponents team of your WWE CEO Amy and WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn," he announced.

During the match, Tamina left AJ alone and Amy was tagged in by Kaitlyn. AJ pleaded her to not hit her but Amy slapped her. AJ ended up flat on the mat and Amy put her on the STF and she tapped out. The bell rang, she signaled Kaitlyn to get in the ring as the referee raised their hands up in victory.

Vickie Guerrero interrupted the celebration, "Excuse me! Excuse me!" 

"I have an announcement to make. Kaitlyn, at the Royal Rumble PPV, we will have a battle royal for the #1 Contender spot for your Divas Championship. You will face the winner at WrestleMania 28 in Miami," she said. The crowd had a mixed reaction.

Amy looked towards Kaitlyn, "That title will be around my waist soon."

Kaitlyn held it up high to remind her that she was champion. "Not for long" Amy thought.

**Royal Rumble PPV**

It was time for the Royal Rumble PPV. Amy has been training really hard for the past week.

"This next match is for the #1 Contender for the Divas Championship," Lilian announced. "Here are your participants: AJ Lee, Rosa Mendes, Naomi, Cameron, Nikki and Brie Bella - The Bella Twins, Tamina, Aksana, Natalya, Layla and your CEO Amy!," she announced.

"Who would you like to face of all these ladies?" Lawler asked Kaitlyn.

"I don't mind, but I'd actually want to face either Natalya or Amy, they're my best friends and I've never faced them one by one before," Kaitlyn answered.

One by one, all the girls started getting eliminated. Amy super kicked AJ, she fell flat outside the ring. The Bella Twins double teamed against Naomi & Cameron to eliminate them. Natalya and Amy eliminated The Bella Twins as they got distracted from taking out Naomi & Cameron. Tamina had eliminated Rosa, Aksana and Layla.

Natalya and Amy shook hands, they knew the crowd knew one of them was winning tonight and they cheered for both of them. Amy kept kicking Tamina then she kicked Amy very hard on my jaw, Amy fell on the mat. Tamina took the opportunity to punch Natalya and eliminate her.It was down to Tamina and Amy.

"Remember when Tamina was champion, she took out Amy," Lawler commented.

"Amy hasn't been in a ring in a few years so we'll see what happens," Cole said.

"That's true Cole but Amy is tough," Kaitlyn commented. 

Amy did the Sweet Chin Music to Tamina, she lifted her up and took her out of the ring for the win.

The bell rang, Amy screamed, she couldn't believe that she was this close to winning the Divas Championship again. Amy jumped as the referee held her hand out for the victory.

"Here's your winner Amy," Lilian Garcia announced.

Kaitlyn was at the commentary table during the match, she came inside the ring with a microphone in hand, "Congratulations my friend," she said. "Good luck at WrestleMania," she added.

Kaitlyn and Amy shook hands and Amy took the microphone from her, "Thanks Kaitlyn, it's going to be an honor to wrestle against you, my friend, but luck is for losers," she said.

She held up the Divas Championship high above her head. Amy signaled to her waist, where the title was going to be after WrestleMania. Having a match for the Divas Championship was a great thing and it was going to get better because WrestleMania is in Amy's home state of Florida which meant her family could come and see her wrestle.

As a Diva, having a WrestleMania match is a dream come true. Amy has been waiting these past few years to have a match at the PPV with no result. She knew showing the creative team, Hunter and Mr. McMahon that she has worked really hard has paid off, they realized that she also belongs in the ring.

Amy went backstage and John is there waiting for her, he hugs her really tight.

"You did it babe," he yelled.

"I know, I can't believe I'm going to WrestleMania with you love," she said.

"Now, you can get your family to come see you at the PPV," he said.

"That's exactly what I thought," she said. "I want them all to see me win that championship and be proud of me," she added.

"I think they're proud of you already babe," he said.

John is so proud of Amy and what she has accomplished, her dream had come true. John wants to make that WrestleMania night even more special for her. They have been together for almost 5 years now, their 5th anniversary is exactly the day that they're having WrestleMania. They''ve been through so much and John thinks it's time for him to ask her the most important question he could ever ask a woman. He hopes she agrees, he surely has a plan on his hands. She's the love of his life, his everything, John is going to show her how special she is. It's time for them to take their relationship to the next level.
