Chapter 24: WrestleMania Engagement

It is WrestleMania day!

Amy had a chat with her family and she was disappointed to be informed that they were not coming today. However, Amy didn't let that ruin the night she was going to have. As CEO, she helped backstage before her match to make sure everything was in place for this busy night, she saw that there was an empty spot on the schedule but she had no idea what was going on.

Tonight, Amy will be having her title match against one of my best friends, Kaitlyn, and John was wrestling Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the WWE Championship. Amy was stretching, "Amy it's time for your match," a crew member told her,  her nerves start kicking in.

"Babe, you will do fine, don't worry," John said.

"How do you know?" she asked.

"Because I know this stuff baby, it's your time to shine, go for it," he said. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"My family informed me that they can't come today," she answered disappointed.

"I'm sorry babe," he said.

"It's okay, I was looking forward to WrestleMania because I knew I could spend time with them and they could see me wrestle too," she said.

"Babe, I'm sure they're just as proud of you as always, there will be other times, don't let that distract you from a win tonight," he said. He gave her a quick peck on her lips.

"Do I get another kiss like this one if I win?" she asked.

"Of course babe," he answered.

"I'll see you in a bit love," she said blowing him a kiss.

**WrestleMania**

"This next match is schedule for one fall and it's for the Divas Championship, introducing first the champion from Houston, Texas, Kaitlyn," Justin Roberts announced. "And her opponent Florida's own Amy," he announced.

Amy could hear the crowd cheering and screaming. She stood by the turnbuckle and did her normal entrance, she slapped hands with the fans at ringside, she went to one of the turnbuckles to blow kisses to the audience. She looked toward the audience and some of the people in the front row looked familiar but she ignored it and kept going.

The bell rang and before the match really got started, Amy shook hands with Kaitlyn and that made the crowd go wild. She started clapping to get them going. You could hear them cheering, "Let's go Kaitlyn! Let's go Amy!"

Amy did a few high flying moves that kept the crowd going through the match. She could hear them screaming when she did a really cool and innovative move. She was really proud of myself, she was doing amazing for being away from the ring all this time.

The referee had signaled them that it was the end of the match, Amy put her on the STF and Kaitlyn tapped out.

"Here's your winner and new Divas Champion Amy" Roberts announced.

Amy helped Kaitlyn get up from the canvas and they hugged each other, "I loved wrestling my best friend," Amy whispered in her ear.

"I had fun, Amy, you know I love you my friend," she whispered.

"I love you too," Amy said.

Amy cried as she held the Divas Championship high in the air, she had won at WrestleMania and in her home state, she just wished my family had been there to witness it.

John had a plan, he had asked Mr. McMahon and Hunter if he could have 15 minutes to do something special for Amy. WrestleMania is in her home state of Florida, to make it even more special, he helped her family fly to Florida. Her grandparents, cousins, aunt, uncles, friends, his family and everyone she knew was coming down but she had no idea. After being with her for almost 5 years, he decided it was time to propose to her.

A few days ago, after they arrived, he had a chat with her family and asked for her hand in marriage and her family approved of it. He took her mom with him to purchase a ring for Amy, beautiful and turquoise, her favorite color. He had the plan that after her match, he was going to surprise her with the engagement ring in front of her hometown crowd, family and friends. He wanted to see her face when she sees everything he planned.

As Amy raised the championship up in the air, she heard John's music playing and she was confused, she knew his match wasn't after hers. He ran towards the ring and he asked for a microphone.

"Hello WWE Universe, how are you guys enjoying the show?" he asked.

Amy was about to leave when he held her arm, "Don't go babe, I have something for you." 

She heard her favorite song playing, "Shades of Love" by Empty Trash, the band was actually there performing the song.

"Babe, turn around and look," he said.

Amy turned around and she saw video of her memories with John, their match with DX, winning her Divas Championship for the first time, their birthdays even their anniversary. She started to cry then she realized that her family and John's was at the ringside, her siblings, cousins, uncles, aunt and even everyone from the locker room.

"WWE Universe, for those of you that don't know, I've been dating this wonderful woman for 5 years now, today is our 5th anniversary actually. She's so beautiful, smart and talented, I fell in love with her so quickly. The video you just saw is of our memories together for the past 5 years. That song is the song she told me she wanted her soul mate to dedicate to her somehow and I know I'm her soulmate. Today, as part of WrestleMania and anniversary celebration, I decided to do something special for this woman," he said.

Once Amy turned around, she saw John on one knee and with a beautiful, turquoise engagement ring that made her speechless.

"Amy, my love, I have loved you since I first saw you backstage, I've been with you for 5 years now and I don't know why it took me this long to propose to you but with the WWE Universe, our friends, our family and God as my witness, will you marry me?" he asked.

She gasped.
