Chapter 2; Edward.

I stood up to greet the young lady that came into my office for the assistant interview. She looked young, very young. I swore I'd seen her before, somewhere. She had blonde hair, which was braided down to her side. She was wearing a tight black pencil skirt with a nice pink blouse. She wore black high heels, she didn't wear much make up. She was pretty. Her eyes were a beautiful hazel color, her lips were very plum and pink, she was pretty.

"Isabella Waltz." She said, giving me a slight smile, which I returned with one of my own.

"Edward Bass." I said, as she extended her arm and I shook her hand. I motioned for her to sit. I sat down, and pulled out her file.

"So, Ms. Waltz, where are you from?" I said, glancing up at her, she seemed slightly nervous so before she answered me, I spoke up. "No need to be nervous, I don't bite. I promise." I said, making her laugh a little.

"I'm from.. Uhm. New York." she said, she didn't seem so certain of it but I brushed it off. I nodded.

"How old are you?" I asked, glancing up at her once again. She fiddled with her fingers and bit her lip a little.

"Nineteen." She sighed out. I didn't think she was that young, shouldn't she be in college? I chuckled, and she sighed once again.

"Have you had any experience assisting?" I asked, scribbling down some notes on her file.

"No. But I'm very organized, and I can keep up with whatever you tell me to do. I worked for a crazy lady that practically made me do everything for her, so I guess you could say maybe I have had a job as assisting someone, and if you don't believe me you can call her and-" I cut her off, she was rambling on and it was slightly funny, I chuckled once again.

"It's alright, I understand." I said, she nodded and played with her fingers once more.

"If you don't mind me asking, aren't you suppose to be in college?" I asked, this time I did look up at her and saw a glint of regret in her eyes.

"Um.. Yeah, um that's kind of a long story.." She said, before trailing off. I understood she didn't want to talk about it. I nodded, and just scribbled some more stuff on her file.

"Will you be able to satisfy whatever need I have? Even at 3 in the morning?" I said, once the words left my mouth I realize how dirty they sounded. "Um, I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean it in a dirty way."

"I understand, and yes. I would be able to." She said, letting out a soft giggle. I couldn't help but smile. I don't know why, but at that moment I realized I wanted her as my assistant. "You got the job. You start tomorrow morning. Be here at 8 o'clock sharp." I said, standing up.

She looked shocked, and stood up once I did. "T-thank you. You won't regret it."

"I hope so, Ms. Waltz. You'll get everything you need from Ms. Jane." Smiling, we shook hands once again and she walked out of my office. I had a good feeling about her.

Sighing, I sat back down on my desk and went back to checking some files for some land I needed to buy.

Once the day ended, I walked out of the office and made my way to the elevator, pressing the 'L' for lobby. Once out of the elevator, I waved goodbye to the security guards and made my way out the building.

I was in need of a drink, so when I got into the car I told my driver to take me to the nearest bar. A few minutes later, we arrived. Before I slipped out of the car, I told my driver to go home and that I would be walking home.

Making my way into the bar, I noticed it was very crowded. Actually, every New York City bar is always crowded. I walked to the bar, and sat down on a stool and asked for a whiskey.

I heard some chatter here and there but the music was too loud. A woman came to the bar, standing next to me. She asked the bartender for six shots of tequila. I chuckled, and looked up at the lady. It was Ms. Waltz. She turned in my direction, and was shocked to see me there.

"Mr. Bass." She said, extending her arm for me to shake, which I did. She was now wearing a tight cocktail dress, and it defined her curves very well.

"Celebrating, I see?" I teased, raising an eyebrow. She laughed slightly, and nodded.

"Yeah, I got a job today." She said, as she turned and the bartender gave her a tray with six tequila shots, once the tray was in her hand, she walked away from me and to the table she was sitting at.

She was with a couple two other women, and two guys. I shrugged, paying for my drink and headed out the bar with Ms. Waltz in my mind.
