Chapter 5; Isabella.

"Don't let her in again. Actually, call security and tell them to not let her in again." Mr. Bass said. He must really not like her.

She looked fake. Her tan was way too... carrotish? I smiled at the thought, and grabbed the phone while I called security to let them know Miss. Rose Parker was not allowed in the building ever again, unless Mr. Bass said otherwise.

It was one o'clock already, and I was starving. I stood up, and turned my computer to sleep. I walked past Mr. Bass, and poked my head. "Mr. Bass, I'm going to lunch. Do you need anything?" I said, before I saw him signaling me to come in.

Once inside, I noticed his hair was slightly messed up. And his tie was loosened. He stayed quiet for a few moments, fiddling with his fingers.

"I know it's a lot to ask, but do you think you could work through lunch and help me with this presentation I have today?" He said, I sighed and nodded. I walked out of his office, setting my purse down and sending a quick text to Brianna telling her I wouldn't be able to make it.

I walked back to his office and he was on his computer, typing away. "What do you need help with?" I said, as I stood in front of him.

"I need to see if the presentation is good enough. I mean, my old assistant made it but she was an idiot. So, I need your help." He said, not even glancing at me. I nodded, and walked behind him so I could see the computer screen. He put the power point up and signaled for me to see it, so he moved out the way. I bent down to check it and look through it. I chuckled, laughing slightly.

"What?" He said, concerned in his voice as he noticed me laughing. I shook my head and grinned.

"She has horrible spelling. Goodness, I've never seen such bad spelling." I said, trying not to burst out laughing. He gave me a small smile, and stood up from his chair telling me to take it so I could fix the mistakes.

Once we were done with the presentation, and finished going through it and how he will present it, it was already 3:30 and I was starving. Except, his meeting was at 4 o'clock sharp and I had to be in there.

"I'll get the car ready so we can head over to Mr. Periera's building." I said, he nodded and I watched him fix his tie and his hair. I smiled before walking off to my desk and picking the phone.

"Walter, will you please get the car ready for Mr. Bass and I?" I said, he nodded and said he would bring it around the corner. I picked up my purse and some other stuff that I knew I would need and walked back to his office. "We should head down now, Mr. Bass."

"Of course." He came out of his office looking very nice and cleaned up. His tie was now perfect, and his hair was gelled back. I smiled, and walked towards the elevator. Inside the elevator there was an awkward silent and I didn't exactly know how to break it. When we walked outside, I realized I had forgotten my coat and I mentally slapped myself for it. I shivered slightly, and walked into the car. It was nice and warm, which was good because I was freezing.

"Did you forget your jacket, Ms. Waltz?" Mr. Bass spoke up, and I broke out of thought. I nodded slightly, rubbing my arm so it could get warm. He chuckled, and gave me a slight laugh. "You can have mine once we get outside."

"Oh, no. It's alright, I'm only gonna be outside for a minute so no worries." I said, smiling slightly at him.

"Yes, but I can't afford you getting sick because I need you and so far on your first day, you're doing a pretty great job." I nodded, and we reached our destination. He quickly pulled his jacket off and handed it to me. I pulled it over my shoulders, and hugged it tightly to my body. It smelled so... nice. I kept sniffing it because of the smell but then I stopped because I must look like a psychopath. Walking out of the car, the wind blew hard and I hugged the jacket even harder, when we were outside I pulled it off my shoulder and handed it to Edward.

"Thank you." I said, as he took the jacket and quickly slipped it on. We reached the from desk and I spoke up. "We're here for Mr. Periera's."

"Oh, of course. He's expecting you. Elevator and to floor 14." She said, giving us a smile and giving Edward a wink. I chuckled and rolled my eyes, making my way to the elevator. I walked into the elevator, and waited for Edward to get in, once he was inside I pressed the 14 and I leaned against the wall.

I closed my eyes and I realized I was dead tired and starving. I could hear my stomach growling and it was embarrassing. I looked up, and Edward gave me a weird look. I laughed slightly shaking my head. The ding went off indicating we were on the floor. We walked out and towards the his secretary.

"Edward Bass. I'm here to see Mr. Periera's." He said, I stood beside him scanning the room. It was nice, and everything In here looked expensive.

"Of course. He's waiting for you in the conference room. I'll take you there." She said, with a smile. I wanted to chuckled but I guess it wasn't really appropriate. Once we made it into the conference room, Edward and him, which his name was Brian, said their hellos.

"Brian, nice to see you again." Edward said, he shook his hand grinning.

"Nice to see you again, too, Edward. Looking sharp." He said, as he pulled his hand away from Edward's. "And who is this young lady?" He said, narrowing his eyes at me.

I smiled, extending my hand for him to shake. "Isabella Waltz. Mr. Bass' assistant." I said, as he took my hand and nodded.

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Waltz. I'm surprised you're keeping up with this gal right here." He said, as he pulled his hand away, I laughed and shrugged.
